"Happy New Year"

Young Justice 2x1 Reaction Early Access!!

Comments

I'm not subscribing. I'll wait until it's available on Amazon. This was a dumb decision on DC's part.

Princess Paladin

Plus there is also the fact that in that Black Lightning scene, he never says his own name. That scene is mostly about another character.

GlamdringandOrcrist

But since it was already revealed in episode one that the new Robin is Tim, I'm sure they've already come to the conclusion that Todd existed, but we just haven't seen it

GlamdringandOrcrist

You're the one spoiling this stuff by saying when and where it occurs dude. All I did was say who they are and where we've seen them before for certain characters. The Jason Todd thing is something that is a tad spoilery though, you're right. The Dick/Zatanna stuff being part of that comic is stuff that doesn't affect the plot so who cares? Plus revealing what their names are is fine.

GlamdringandOrcrist

It's absolutely spoilers, though. In episode 4 of season 2 Dick directly states he and Zatanna are not together, but "have a history", in episode 2 of season 2 there's a flashback explaining Beast Boy's back story, and in many different episodes of season 2 there's a grotto showing memorials of various heroes. It is not expressly said that Jason Todd himself is dead, but it IS stated that all of the statues are of fallen team members, and Jason Todd's Robin IS among the statues. You'd have to be retarded not to piece that together. Karen and Mal discuss their relationship, and their history together, in which they talk about being high school sweet hearts at Happy Harbor High. La'gann and Aquaman talk about Atlantis. Black Lightning gets a scene towards the end of the season. There is literally nothing you said that isn't revealed later in this season, except for MAYBE Black Lightning's real name, and discussing it now is a spoiler for those later reveals.

Ryan Kosier

I just rewatched the show a couple weeks ago and just about everything you said can be extracted from watching the show. They may not say it but I learned everything you said from merely watching and paying attention.

Chris Skalicky

I still don't understand why they are putting YJ S3 on that streaming services when it's because of Netflix that brought it back. It's like they want it to get canceled again. Only die hard DC fans are going to subscribe to that service then the powers-that-be will say not enough people are watching and they'll can it again.

Chris Skalicky

A few of the new Young Justice members were in season one. Actually, all except Blue Beetle, Wonder Girl, and the Tim Drake Robin.

Mten10th

again, these are all things they can infer on their own by watching the show, and even if they want to discover plot points from the companion comic with their own research. What fun is there to be hand fed all of this stuff?? Like people have mentioned, the episodes allude to alot of this stuff, they can be considered spoilers, because seeing these allusions and trying to make sense of them on their own (even if they get it wrong at first) is part of the fun of watching the story unfold...

Randy Watson

Because The Flash in the Justice League cartoon was Wally West and he's a member of the Young Justice team.

TB

Except for the visuals part. But that would be spoiling so I'm not saying shit on that front

GlamdringandOrcrist

It's not. Again I've seen the show numerous time and none of this is ever stated.

GlamdringandOrcrist

DC is launching its on streaming service. That is where Young Justice season 3 will air. They'll probably out YJ seasons 1 & 2 on there as well.

Jjop017

All of this is addressed in future episodes of season 2 through either dialogue or visuals. Let them find out on there own just like everyone else did when they first watched the show.

Chris Skalicky

I am bummed about the huge playboy thing. Because from my understanding Bruce merely played a womanizing fop, like Zorro's Don Diego dela Vega -- as part of his public persona. Oh well...

True, but all of these things aren't stuff that they would've found out about unless they had a more in depth knowledge of the characters from the comics or had watched the series a few times. There is also the fact that much of this info is easy to miss if you're not looking for it and is never outright stated during Season 2, like who Black Lightning is or where we've seen some of these characters before.

GlamdringandOrcrist

While it's true these may not be spoilers, the crew has said that they like to find out and figure out these things on their own.

Ok time to inform them. If any mods would be willing to relay this info to the crew, that would be appreciated. None of this is a spoiler for the plot or development of our characters, I've watched this show more times than I can count so I know what is and isn't a spoiler. Ok so, lets get started. The first thing is that, just in case this is ever brought up, Nightwing is not in a relationship with Zatanna. There was a short lived comic that ran alongside the show that revealed that the Dick Grayson from YJ shared a trait with his mainstream counterpart, being that he is a huge playboy like Bruce. It's revealed that he has dated/slept with Zatanna, Rocket, and Batgirl, but is currently single. Next, the only new member of the League besides Zatanna & Rocket is Jefferson Pierce, aka Black Lightning. Moving on, the little aliens are called Kroloteans, which is pronounced like Crow-low-tay-uns. Next, G. Gordon Godfrey is the DC equivalent of J. Jonah Jameson, hence why their names are similar. Next, it was revealed in this episode that M'gann learned how to phase like J'onn, just in case you guys missed it. Lastly, the new members of the team. Jaime Reyes, aka Blue Beetle, Garfield Logan, aka Beast Boy (we've already met Garfield in season one, can't believe you guys didn't recognize his voice), La'gann, aka Lagoon Boy (he had a small cameo in season one during the episode that took place in Atlantis), Karen Beecher, aka Bumblebee (she was featured in season one multiple times, as she was a student at the high school that M'gann and Connor attended and she was on the cheerleading squad), Mal Duncan (he is the guy that was communicating with Gamma Squad over the radio, and he is Karen's boyfriend. He also went to the same high school and was featured numerous times in season one), Cassie Sandsamark, aka Wonder Girl, Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl (we saw Barbara in a few episodes in season one, mainly during when Artemis arrived at Gotham Academy for the first time and the episodes Failsafe and when the adults and children were separated), & and finally, Tim Drake, aka Robin. Yes the new Robin is Tim Drake, who in the comics is the third Robin. As this is never explicitly said in season 2, yes, Jason Todd existed in this universe and was on the team, and is presumed dead. He does not appear in season 2 alive at any point, but my fingers are crossed that he will reappear in season 3 as Red Hood.

GlamdringandOrcrist

Minus Flash

GlamdringandOrcrist

What why?!

GlamdringandOrcrist

Dick got bigger!

Friendly reminder that YJ is being taken off Netflix on Aug 1 so if anyone wants to rewatch/binge, nows the time

Agni Kai

My same reaction during the beginning. <3

Dababa

Knocking over Aqualad huh? Foreshadowing + 100

Kito Brown

Fun bit of trivia: The six leaguers that went missing for the 16 hours are the original Justice League from the early 2000s cartoon.

TB

Some of the "new" young justice heroes actually showed up in last season if you can find them like Beast Boy and Batgirl

Stealth Mode!!! LMAO

Fawzan Khan

Atomic Man!! ...... Captain Atom T.T He's cool guys.

Cody Enos

I love and hate Season 2. I love it because it's the perfect show to throw newbies to the DCU into the deep end with characters and mythology, and as a comic reader I'm geeking out hard on each episode. Plus, you get all the great story telling and character development you got from season 1, but on the other hand there are so many big story lines and everything matters to the point where it can be overwhelming, and a bit much at times, but by the end of the season you know it was well worth it.

Cody Enos

When the show was on the air one of the show runners posted information on the universe that didn't make it into the show itself. This isn't a spoiler. Justice League in this show have a chairman that they elect every year rather than one permanent leader who makes all the decisions. In season 1 Batman was the chairman of the Justice League and season 2 Captain Atom (silver guy with an atom on his chest) is the chairman. The chairman itself doesn't seem to have full authority on everything, just when they run missions. For the most part the League runs by democracy.

Jjop017

OMG I was soooooooo taken back by Megan and Connor when I first saw this!!!

Lagoon boy is from Atlantis, he is actually in season one ep 8 as kind of an easteregg. So you have seen him before. :)

Aggie

The Tim Curry guy is G. Gordon Godfrey, he is a real treat this season. In comics he is known as Glorious Godfrey.

coffeemilk

Lagoon boy was in the episode when Aqualad went back to Alantis in season 1. He was one of the background characters. When he was revealed to be Miss Martians boyfriend he got a lot of hate, and I admit that I did too, if only because it got in the way of the Supermartian ship and because everyone else was doing it. Hopefully blindwave grow to like him.

Neptunes beard is probably like saying Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ

coffeemilk

Its neptunes beard guys cause neptune underwater God I think

Skeletor

Glad to see the Blind Wave crew digging into Invasion. Some things to clarify and make note of. The silvery guy with the red symbol on his chest is "Captain Atom" not "Atomic Man". I get that it's confusing having Captain Atom (atomic powers) and The Atom (shrinking powers) on the same team XD The guy who got torn apart by Lobo is Tseng, the Secretary General of the United Nations, and also the former leader of South Rhelasia. South and North Rhelasia were the countries meant to be a parody of North and South Korea, in that episode with Red Arrow and Aqualad trying to stop Cheshire and Lex Luthor. Nice bit of continuity there.

I don't think they'll like how much Season 2 added in though. ALL the new characters, ALL the new story threads and ALL the annoying catchphrases haha, but I hope they like it
