The picture Pinako or Granny was looking at when she said he hadn't changed one bit wasn't of Hohenheim and Trisha. It was of Hohenheim and Pinako when they were younger, she had the same bun and was smoking a pipe, and it said September '66, 12 years before Trisha was born.

Eric asking about Automail in almost exactly the same way at the exact same time as Breda was hilarious

I feel like every other episode now is going to end with "WHAT NO GOD DAMMIT!". These cliffhanger endings keep playing you. :P
Yeah, Advance of the Fool is a reference to Mustang (though I'm sure there's other interpretations of it as well. I love how much you love him, I had a feeling he was going to be a favorite.
I feel like now that you're getting more and more into this show and understanding the world, you're finally getting time to be invested in the characters as well, even the minor ones. Like, you all seemed affected about what had happened to Havoc, and I really liked seeing that.
It's not going to get easier from here neither when it comes to sadness or cliffhanger endings. Good luck.

The characters' heights change throughout the series too. Ed is taller by the end. Taller than Winry too, for that matter.

The photo was labelled Sept 66. The show takes place between 1915-1917. So, yeah, closer to 45-50 years.

Yea, the grandma looked like she was in her 20's or something in that photo, and Hoenheim looked the exact same.

They were both preteens when they lost their bodies though. Even if Ed is shorter than Al there is nothing indicating that either of them stopped growing. There is late growth spurts to consider as well. I can see why Ed thinks this is a possibility, especially if he is factoring in his parents' heights in the mix.

It is more than 10 years. Winry' grandma took a picture with Ed and Al's dad too and she looked pretty damn young while the dad looked the same as he did in the present. That is at least several decades without changing, which is crazy.

Speaking of the pictures we saw last episode. The one that Pinako showed Hohenheim was of the two of them, and Pinako was much younger in that picture than she is now.

Al is shorter, perspectives can make it seem different and there is also growth. Arakawa is really good at subtly changing a growing characters height. Ed is older so he is most likely going to bet bigger before Al

The biggest flaw in Ed's theory, is that Al was already taller then Ed. Go back to episode 12, All is a good 1-2 inches taller, and as someone whose younger brother is taller then him, once you get passed up, there is no catching up, so chances are Ed was always going to be short. That and why would Ed need to sleep for Al's body, if its just sitting in the portal like they suspect, then wouldn't it have nothing better to do then sleep?

that is completely genetic memory move a north korean to america and he is still short.

They censored Al's face because it was too disgusting from decomposition.

In terms of Ed's height, its more akin to the fact that he is actually malnourished since he should be consuming for 2 bodies. Because he can't/isn't consume(ing) that much, he is malnourished, and it is stunting his growth. Just like how North Koreans are statistically shorter than South Koreans because they are more likely to be malnourished
