Doctor Who Early Access 1x1 "ROSE"

when i say it shot through the roof, i didn't mean that it's good now. haha it still looks like it was filmed on a potato and it blows my mind. its from 2006 and it looks like it was made in the 70's. i'm not saying this to bash the show but come on at least use current technology and make it look good. i get the goofy nature and the odd dialogue. its British and campy and lots of people love it and i'm definitely trying to. also lets not act like the BBC is paying an arm and a leg for this show. Series 9 in 2015 cost roughly $900,000 an episode. just for reference, in the same year Game of Thrones Cost $10 million an episode. and in 2006, the same year as series 2 of Dr. Who ER cost $13 million an episode.

Well, of course it shot through the roof. :) They'd proven to the BBC that they could pull the show off after such a long time away, and so the BBC gave them more money to work with.

I had never seen Dr. Who before now and honestly i thought most of the first season sucked, but now i'm in season 2 and the production value shot through the roof and the stories are compelling and fun to watch. Dr. Who is definitely not my type of sci-fi though. The 3 Stargate series and the new Battlestar Galactica are what i'm used to and what i enjoy the most. i've seen every episode of all 3 series of Stargate probably 20 times each and i've seen BSG probably 6 times all the way through. Even though i am beginning to enjoy Dr. Who i would love a reaction series to Stargate or BSG. Probably won't happen though, they are both very device series. and in my personal experience, there are more people who dislike the series than like them.

I actually tried to watch it some years ago and gave up after episode 4. My sister and granddad love it though! It's just not for me I guess. I'm glad they're enjoying it so far though. It's certainly an interesting concept!

i think this season is like Eric put it "charming" try giving it some time :) if you've seen more tho and you didn't like it then ok not everybody like the same things

All i said was stopped watching the new Dr Who stuff when Tennant ended being Dr. I never said if i wont get back into it by then. Just that I rather at this point watch the reactions till then.

4 episodes??? That's barely enough time...at all. Hell, one of those 4 episodes are one of my least favorite episodes in the series...plus, by skipping his entire tenure, you're missing out on an absurd amount of important plot details...

Happy to see you guys finally doing Doctor Who, I'm a long time fan, dating back to the mid 80's and have seen every existing episode. The first series has some tough episodes to get through but it's well worth the watch

Oh this takes me back. I remember watching it not long after it 1st premiered. Looking back this 1st episode is really good especially the actor for The Doctor and the actress for Rose. I really love how they made the 2005 show really accessible for new watchers. I cannot wait for you to get to some particular episodes for a particular actor showing up this season you will love and I think Aaron knows what I'm talking about. A lot of your questions will be answered this season. I loved the reaction and can't wait for the next one. :-) <3

I think you misunderstood. Shield and PB are the ones that are going to be delayed. The other live shows aren't airing this week.

That was great. "Charming" and "quirky" are great ways to describe this series I think. As you guys discussed, they do their best with the stuff they have. I can already tell this is going to be a fun reaction series. I was mostly wondering how Eric and Shane would react, since I know Calvin and Aaron has watched Who before, so I'm glad they both seem interested and liked it. Lots of good laughs in this. :D Can't WAIT for more. AAAAH I'm so happy this is finally here I just dropped everything to watch it. NICE.
