Arrow 5x14 Poll!

Is Curtis being mishandled this season in terms of his abilities as a vigilante?

Comments

I think they are just slowly building up to him becoming a better hero and he will start using technology to help him fight while also becoming a better fighter.

Supermonaman

They should kill off Felicity and make Curtis the main tech guy

The writers just don't seem as invested in writing for his strength this season as other characters like Wild Dog and Ragman. Even the Vigilante had more focus than poor Curtis.

Erika Kobori

He needs to do something besides stand there with his thumb up his ....

Scott

He can't fight, he shouldn't be out there. Kinda think he should just be a tech guy kinda like Cisco at the beginning of flash where he just makes the 'toys'

BarryAllen1310

Maybe gorilla city and supergirl used all cw's cgi budget and they can't do the t spheres yet lol

Colt Baudoux

They can go two ways now. Either completely stop the Mr. Terrific thing, which doesn't fit Curtis at all and make him a tech guy again. Or, make him figure out effective ways and make him use some gadgets to trick and fool criminals rather than trying punch and kick them.

took murdock a season to get his outfit

Character development in this show is always a season-long thing. I hated season one because Oliver was killing everyone, but he changed at the beginning of season two, but he still struggled with that decision. Laurel went from being a strong lawyer in 1 to an alcoholic in 2, to a vigilante-in-training in 3, and finally a full-blown heroine in 4. Curtis is still relatively new. Last season he was just a civilian, now he's trying to be a vigilante. I suspect that next season, he will find his calling as the Mr. Terrific we all want. It's just a slow burn to get there. Which I actually prefer. Growth is slow.

Darth Skhorrn

I keep asking, WHERE THE HELL ARE HIS T-SPHERES??

Subrath Sharma

Yes I don't see him goin forward with his character, he might as well sit next to felicity becos he's best at doing that.

Etty Gafa

Maybe the writers are going for a story where Curtis tries lots of different things until he finally settles on something actually useful nearer the end of the season. But if so, that story isn't flowing well. Perhaps its getting lost because there are so many other character stories they're weaving in at the same time.

TheUndeadFish

I said no since I think he doesn't just have the conviction of the others yet wild dog lost his family laurel lost her sister ect and like laurel he didn't start out great since they had no training give him time more training with his intelligence he could become a very capable hero

christopher wills

He is the only one of the new recruits that has no experience fighting. So im glad that there not making him a good fighter because it makes sense.

Kevin Echeverria

He's raw. At some point his body and mind will combine to be better and the orbs he made will be a part of his abilities. If he just kicked ass, there would be no reason for him to turn to tech to make himself better

CAdesignstudio

I don't understand why people do that. You'd think they'd want to make them really attachable so his death can actually mean something.

Gezno

maybe they are purposely making him bad, maybe to justify falling into he dark side? just a theory of mine

pong191

I feel like they don't want us to get attached to that character (like laurel) so the can kill him off or something.

Mahbod

Wheres young justice?

mellie

I agree that he should be using more tech out in the field, it would definitely make up for the how not so good he is at hand to hand. Plus it would make him unique from the others.

Cameron Mason

Yes, he serves no purpose.

Trent Deuster

this is Devil'sBreath from discord and yea I think they kind of forgot about the whole training thing after a couple episodes and they should get back to that but at the same time they are kind of caught up in multiple issues so it is understandable how they cant rn.

Abhishek Kaushal

He defiantly needs to be at least using more tech if he's going out in the field. This would give him more unique skills since hid hand to hand combat is awful.

Thedeadman97

I feel like he should be using more tech

Stone A. Bowman

I understand that they're trying to gradually make him a hero, kind of like the slow Black Canary progression with Laurel, but Mr Terrific is supposed to be one of the greatest minds in the DC universe, even if he isn't particularly competent in combat yet, he should be the smartest person in the room at all times.

no young justice today?

Weiss Schnee

What bugs me about Curtis was how competently he helped out in Season 4 and now he is a liability in Field.

Red Claw

Mr Terrific in the comic is known as the third smartest man on earth . He picks up complicated skills and retain them . He also had a black belt in 6 diff martial arts disciplines .

Naveen Thampy

Curtis sucks so much I think they should kill him he doesn't matter to me

Narutoanime16

Mr. Terrific is supposed to be more like Batman and GA. He is athletic and has fighting skills, not like there's, but enough to take down your ordinary henchmen or bad guy. Then if he needs help he has an array of gadgets a.k.a his T Spheres. They are supposed to act like Batman's utility belt or GA's arrows where they each do different things to help with different situations. We saw him working on them in season 4, but they haven't done anything with them since. However I can't say I'm surprised since Arrow seems to be allergic to the source material and very rarely uses it.

WhateverIFeelLike

Mr. Terrific has always been a decent fighter because of his athletic abilities, but he's always used technology to support him in a fight. In this he's always getting his butt kicked and occasionally invents something when the writers write themselves into a corner.

TB

i am with you his seens have been poor but come some point he is going to be amazing and all this dislike will be a disstant memory - it will also be a bigger pay off for when he finally kicks butt

Karston James

Mr. Terrific doesn't have his T-Spheres. He is a more tech based hero, like The Atom, but seriously, where is his gadgets?

Mary Poppins Y'all

Damn it Curtis...

tsujoi

I voted yes but too be honest I think Rag Man the coolest person was given lame scenes before he lost his powers. I think this show sufers wth knowing what to do with there side characters.

Skeletor

Yes but I think that is what happens when you have so many characters to worry about during a 1 hour show. I think all of the characters shouldn't be in every episode together always, sometimes it works better when less are involved rather than more.

Travis Taylor

His fights feel like Laurel's. Just painfully bad and hard to watch. Why is he even there?

Unholy

I think they need to make him unique. At the minute he's just a henchman that dresses funny.

Ryan O'Malley

I think story wise, he's just needs to find his thing, he's super smart with tech so find a way like Ray did to implement tech into his fighting (i.e. T-Spheres), it isn't taking away from my enjoyment of the show though

He's an Olympian. A Bronze Medalist to be extact as stated last season. So what they are doing makes no sense. He should be more athletic than what they are making him out to be. They make him out as if he couldn't do a single push up without breaking his arm.

Darth Kal-El (Cory Weston)

I think he has fallen into the pit of we have all these guys, but don't utilize all of them. Hate to use Marvel in a DC comment but Agents does a good job to get everyone included in each story during the season. He still comes off as witty banter with some comic relief guy.

Andrew Courtney

He's a fucking Olympic Bronze Medalist. So yes he's being mishandled. He should be able to do more and should be more athletic than he is. He's just a bumbling can't do anything but tech stuff smart guy.

Darth Kal-El (Cory Weston)

I'm sure that they're trying to tear him down so they can build him up to his comic equivalent with the exploding "T" balls being his primary weapons. But it just feels like they're dragging it out way too long to where it's becoming obnoxious.
