Now that I think about it: it's quite interesting that magic is as accesible as the user wants to embrace it... man, even a machine seemed pretty open to that!!!

Even though the Ward being Hydra tie-in was really good for the series I had to pick Coulson getting Nick Fury a Helicarrier because of how it was alluded to in the movie itself.

All of these are great moments but the Ward/Hydra reveal changed the show. As great as the other moments are, none of them compare to that. Now if you're asking for the best other than the Ward/Hydra reveal, I might have to give it to the artificial portal. It's the most recent tie-in so it's fresh and it just looked so damn cool!

I think The Show Would Have been good no matter how the movies went. It has solid writing and a good cast. But the events with Shield is kinda what shaped the show for those first 2 seasins. The Last 2 seasons could have haooened any time rreally.

Without The Hydra reveal, Agents of Shield would have been a very different show.

As awesome as this week's Doctor Strange tie-in was, the Ward / HYDRA reveal for The Winter Soldier back in season 1 was where Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. really raised the bar and became excellent, so have to give it to that.

The Winter Soldier Hydra tie-in had the most consequences and direct effect in Agents of SHIELD and that's why it's my favorite so far.

I think Nick Fury's cameo during the Season 1 finale was also really good. His entrance in that helicopter was awesome and unexpected.

There have been other tie ins as well. Some of them haven't been immediate, like the previously mentioned Lorelai episode, the Chitauri helmet one and the whole arc with the centipede serum (being a derivative of every serum in the MCU). Now, the immediate tie ins that are not mentioned here are the thor 2 cleanup and the most subtle of all: The Civil War tie in. The Sokovia accords prompted a registration act for the inhumans, 'member?

I agree with Aaron the helicarrier tie-in was the best for me too it was just such a direct mention

I had to go with Coulson gets Fury a helicarrier because that is directly mentioned in AoU and it just felt really good to hear that. Also Lady Sif came to Earth because Lorelai was freed by the Dark Elves when they broke everyone out of prison. So technically it is a tie-in.
