Killer Frost being evil is definitely the most disappointing. I still think there is more to Alchemy than him just being Julian. But I'm sure that Caitlin's evilness was intended by the writers.

I honestly think you guys are overthinking the Caitlin thing and the Alchemy reveal. 1st off you guys completely forgot that it was established by Caitlin's mom in a previous episode showing that using her powers brings out her negative emotions. Also like what is probably happening in the show right now in the comics Killer Frost's powers alter her brain chemistry. And who Alchemy is isn't supposed to be a super big reveal since it has been known who he was for a while before this and now that you know that I think it might not be as disappointing. Also Julian is a combination of 2 different versions of Alchemy from the comics. Hopefully even this doesn't stop these things from being disappointing it will clear up any confusion.

I hated killer frost since the show introduced her,but this episode made me like her.Jullian as alchemy is fine it could be worse.

Logan Murray

While the Caitlin becoming Killer Frost wasn't awful, it could have been done with more care. It did seem to come quicker than expected.

How did jullian get his powers and i wonder if are going to make a episode about it.

I didn't realize that Caitlin being bad because of her powers bothered me until Eric mentioned it. However, having Julian as alchemy makes less sense to me. Not only was it obvious, the reveal confused me more than entertained me. Why does everyone have split personalities this season?

LizzyMcG

I kinda wasn't disappointed by anything really here. The Alchemy was called out a long time ago and he is a minor villain vs Savitar. And Caitlin going bad was explained that the more she uses the more she changes. Also side note sensing a big theme of split personalities with powers this season. Magenta, Killer Frost, the flashpoint metas, and Alchemy

Matthew Thacker

I think The Newest Wells Is The Villain or Another Time Line Character. Also Im just wondering if Barry will have too go back too the previous time line even if mean losing is love. Just to save her.

Skeletor

Yeah I agree it would have been better if he wasn't Alchemy because of the reasons people have used but if those who have read the comics are right then giving him the character of Julian Albert then it should have been no surprise that he is Alchemy. Disappointing, yeah a bit but there was no one else it could have been, unless they used somebody completely random who we hadn't met. It would have been cool if it had been HR that would have been a surprise! Lol

Nyree Sullivan

Like all the people above me, I was let down they showed who is Alchemy even before the crossover event.. Also Tom Felton is forever the bad guy both in movies and TV.. he was Draco Malfoy, he was that asshole kid in Rise of Planet of the Apes.. now he's Alchemy

Subrath Sharma

I was disappointed to see that Julian was alchemy because it's the obvious choice. However like you guys said I think it's not that simple. I think either he is calling Julian to be alchemy now after the other one died or disappeared. Or they just went with this obvious choice which is disappointing.

Great reaction but I don't really agree with you on Kaitlyn or Julian. You are painting this with broadest brush of good vs evil. Kaitlyn isn't evil. She's just desperate. Nothing she did this episode was out of evil intentions, she was just at an emotional breaking point. You have to see in shades of grey. Not black and white. I mean look at Ollie in Arrow. He killed tons of people. Do we consider him evil for that? No. And about Julian Albert... sorry but... This is like being surprised Snart is Captain Cold. Albert is Doctor Alchemy's name in the comics and knowing the character there you'd know what his condition is. And it's episode 5. Don't act like they tried to deceive you on who Alchemy is like they did last season with Zoom (they're going the season 1 route where you knew Harrison Wells was Reverse Flash almost immediately). Also an idea I would have expected from you what with people inheriting powers and memories from Flashpoint. What if Julian was Doctor Alchemy in Flashpoint and the remnants of that are having their effect on Julian in this timeline due to Alchemy's more mystical powers.

(skip this bit if ya like, the Caitlin bit is what is important)I voted for Julian Alchemy, tho hopefully, like you two said, maybe things will smooth out as the show progresses. As for Caitlin, I liked her arc this episode & didn't really see it as her being evil because of her powers. I think it was more of her going to extreme measures of trying to get rid of her powers. The "evil" moments I think was just her fears of her Earth 2 self manifesting. Like it was more of a psychological issue then "oh, I have powers, must mean I become evil". We have seen previously that she was scared of her powers as well as what it meant and we know she knows of her Earth 2 self so it would make since her fear of what she could become would mess with her. That is why I beleive they say she is "Sick".

It was a little disappointing Julian turned out to be alchemy, as they made it seem so obvious last episode plus I didn't think they'd make the new guy in town the bad guy again. But episode was still awesome anyway.

Cameron Mason

I voted for Caitlin because it seemed forced than anything. I feel like with Julian there could be something else going on with it like he is being forced to do it by Savitar

Kyle Snyder

I thought the way the frost powers made Caitlin evil was already established. Kind of like split personality disorder. I am very disappointed in Juilian being Alchemy though. Thought the show was smarter than that.

MailDude

Julian being Alchemy didn't bother me because I knew it was coming. Caitlyn being evil just didn't make sense. Cisco has used his powers much more than her and he isn't Reverb.

Ryan O'Malley

Julian as Alchemy was way too obvious. A new guy shows up at the lab at the same time as a new bad guy and surprise! it's the same person. Boooo! Wait... that means... Greg Grunberg is Savitar! And he has a pet shark... with a knife!

Cheyenne Hacker

catlin's power i can see it having that effect it is literally turning her into two people akin to what happened to indigo and it's good to see catlin have a story arc that isn't about her love life, i believe Julian is being forced in some way to become alchemy it is still kinda a let down since it would've been nice for them to introduce a new recurring character that isn't the bad guy, a reused actor or a speedster, otherwise the shows great coming back strong from the high of season 2.

christopher wills

Caitlin's power I can kind of see, like that other girl, Indigo I think, who's power was locked in a split personality. Not that powers make you evil but I can see it as possible that a power could make you evil or at least push you in that direction and so she'll have to fight that part of her power to stay herself.

Kevin Bartelen

I called Jullian was Alchemy two episodes ago, I felt great for being right. I like Caitlin's powers turning her evil, it's an internal struggle she's going thru, Cisco's powers sort of did/do/did the same thing.

Jordan Brauer

I went for the Alchemy reveal. Though I don't fully understand why Caitlins power makes her evil, I see it as the power is making her emotions cold too? Though Caitlin looks hot with those Silver eyes and hair :) But the Alchemy reveal was far too obvious.

Jon Dub

I was a bit disappointed to find out he was alchemy, but it didn't take away anything from the episode. Loved it still!

tsujoi

Also, Joe's motivations made perfect sense to me personally. He was a Father who was heartbroken and desperate and wanted his son to be ok. It might not be the smartest decision since he didn't know what effect it would have, but when it comes to the ones we love we all make stupid decisions

Joshua Varghese

I personally didn't think she was "evil". It seemed to me that she was just feeling desperate and alone and just wanted to get rid off her powers however she could, because they reminded her off Ronnie dying with powers and Hunter being evil

Joshua Varghese

I loved the episode. Plus I think there is a deeper layer to everything. Caitlin turned 'evil' because of overusing her powers (that's what her mom warned her for after all). And she is so hellbent on not becoming Killer Frost, that she actually becomes her. Also I think Julian is either being mind-controlled or blackmailed in being a lackey for Savitar. Like Alchemy has a 'spell' on other people, Savitar might have Julian in his control like that. Could be an interesting story to see how he lost himself

Flashback007

I wasn't disappointed at all because I felt that 1. Alchemy doesn't really feel like the main big bad of the season, mostly Savitar. 2. I felt that the reason Caitlin is evil was mostly because of what Hunter Zolomon said last season about seeing the darkness in her. He could control his darkness it seems playing as both "Jay" and Zoom. 3. Really any character Tom Felton plays is evil in some way, shape, or form.

Matt

I think Alchemy is being forced to serve Savitar. He seemed afraid when he heard his voice. Also what if Savitar feeds on some sort of temporal energy from flashpoint metas? Thats why he needs Alchemy to give them their powers.

Julian as Alchemy was really a dissapointment to me because was too obvious for be real... I mean, was so cliche! I was starting to like his chemistry with Barry and I really belived that they would became good friends at some point. :(

Jéssica Fonseca

I think there is more to the Julian as Alchemy than we know. That is why I still enjoyed the reveal.
