To reiterate on my previous post, cause I do really want to know, how will you write out the characters of the black scripture? We don’t have a lot of info about them aside from what may be described in the games/web novel, but not too much. Are you gonna create your own personalities, base the off other characters, or what? I’m just genuinely interested on how you’re gonna tackle them in comparison to other writers. Love your work

2025-04-13 03:46:41 +0000 UTCI really think Maru has fumbled extremely hard with her. He introduced her in a way and then did a 180 in vol 16 showing her as some kind of zealot toward her country. I don't really see her in both ways and still i tried to not abandon her canon persona. In my story she is a flirt who uses innuendos because it is fun and to throw off her opponent (in battle or discusssion) and as a mask to not show her true self. She also very much likes her country and would defend it to the bitter end (more of this explained in the future) but she is not some zealot who thinks her country is perfectly okay in everything it does, nor does she obey blindly. Plus, i added some personality in the mix, made up by my own imagination on how her life would impact her. Sorry for the spiel, i just like dissecting characters, be they mine or someone else's.

I also like your version of Zesshi in this. She's not the one-dimensional horny battle lover who just wants to lose to a strong guy that she was in the early books, she very much her own person and its nice to see; she likes her home country well enough but has aspirations and hobbies of her own.

2025-04-11 05:19:04 +0000 UTCMaybe I wasn't thinking about the complexity enough, but I assumed that the idea was to flex "We here at re-estys have enough power that just because we are willing to go to war to avenge ourselves, we're not so weak that you should try to invade while we're busy ." After all the years of being one of the weaker countries, the mentality of actually being in a position of power means some of the king (or Renners) moves have to shift from a survival to having power mentality for national representation. After all, Satoru is just one man, and the king has to at least survive or avoid being invaded while he's off adventuring . While religion and magic are likely more relevant, if the common people are hating the temples for their practices with healing magic, the difference between faith and the institutions of faith are likely going to be what causes tensions long about whether the war is being done just for revenge for the princess, against the concept of temples, or against the faith itself. In all of those cases, the king has to leverage his personal want to kill them all with at least some justifiable way of telling other countries why they shouldn't just take out another of his kids to cause more wars 2-3 years down the line.

2025-04-09 18:43:05 +0000 UTCGreat intermission. I was reading one of the other comments and I agree that I hope the battles in this upcoming war aren’t skipped over. Trust me, I love the character development and world building, but sometimes you need serious action, high stakes combat, and give satoru an excuse to absolutely flex on his opponents. I am interested on what they want with the theocracy. Raymond said that the black scripture and maybe Zesshi will act as bodyguards for him and the other cardinals. I’m interested, aside from the reunion with Zesshi and Satoru, how will you handle the other black scripture members? Will you start with the ones we already know about or will you include the others and create your own character sheets for them. They’ve always been some of the most interesting characters in Overlord and I’m excited to see how you work with them. One thing I hope you do, is have some of them recognize Satoru as some overwhelming force to further emphasize his power in this world. Especially since he sparred and matched the strongest fighter in the theocracy.

2025-04-09 03:52:06 +0000 UTCIn other news, I wonder what the Re-estys are thinking, trying to meet with the theocracy. can't think of anything that they might want from the theocracy other than a personal objective of Satoru having the perfect excuse to get some juicy intel on the theocracy through this meeting, but other than that, I can't think of a political reason Re-estys would want to meet. The only think I can think of is maybe Re-estys want to meet with them to either insure that there action agian the four gods church has not put them on bad terms with the Theocracy, or they want to insure that the theocrasy will not interfere in there war, or Ramposa is interested in having the six god church come in and fill in the vacume the disaparace of a magor religion in there area would have. After all, people need some sort of faith to believe in to prevent civil discourse from happening with the discontent of those who are more spiritually inclined, having no religion to believe in. People can survive without religion, but the general populace would not be doing so well, especially since in that world there are physical manifestations of faith having a magical effect, which supposedly prove the existence of those gods. While those disinters that eight arms were protecting would still be around to provide healing, their mostly non-organized nature would result in them being unable to generally fill in the void left behind by the church. This might push Ramposa III into maybe seeking out theocracy to have them fill in that void, although Renner is definitely not going to want that since Satoru wants peace with the demi-human, and the theocracy is violently against it, so I can't see Renner allowing Ramposa to do this. This is ultimately a long-winded spiel of me saying I have no idea why Re-Eestys is trying to talk to them. Anyone got any ideas?
