To Be Hero X Ep 7

People bring up the detail that you see new e-soul at the end of lin lings arc. Another detail to bring up is that in the Firm Man episode, when the explosion gets set off under the statue, you can see new e-soul arriving and helping civilians out of their cars after getting caught in the ground breaking apart from the explosion. Stuff like this is why I love anthology series like this. They can drop foreshadowing and small details that you don't pick up on at first. Makes for a story that is super fun to watch/read multiple times so that you can look for all the details that you miss. That's one of the main things I love about this show. You have more episodes out so I can say this, but the way they show you the character for the next arc, lucky cyan, in this episode is just so cool. They literally introduce you to the next hero before their arc even starts and you have no clue until you watch the next episode and realize "wait! that's the singer from the concert in the last episode!". It's so fking awesome.

It's exactly what you thought. People explained it well, so I'll try to resume: - Uncle Rock in truth is Yan, the CEO of MG, the agency of Old E-Soul. He was behind everything: Yang Cheng failing at the concours, Pomelo's kidnapping and Shang Chao's death, so he could have a new E-Soul that he could control more easily. - Yang Cheng could have saved Shang Chao, but he was jealous of him and Xia Qing, so he hesitated, letting him die. What makes possible to make a parallel between him and Lin Ling: one could give up on being a hero for the ones he loved, the other one gave up on the ones he loved for the sake of being a hero. - Yang Cheng became the E-Soul, and with the merging of trust values, he took the 9th position, entered the top 10, therefore moving into the tower.

Others have pretty much explained what happened there at the end. However there’s another important detail, and that’s Shang Chou’s (kid who was killed) father, Shang De (guy in the red suit we saw last arc and who’s in the OP). He is the CEO of “Treeman” (hero agency in charge of Nice, Moon, Lin Ling, and Firm Man). “Mighty Glory” is another of the big agencies. Rock is the CEO. They were in charge of OG E-Soul and now Yang Cheng (new E-Soul, but lots of TBHX fans now call him E-Fraud lol) Gotta say I was really impressed with Rock being the twist villain, although I did have a hunch since the start. Yang Cheng really dropped the ball tho. When his girl made a promise with him last episode I had a deep gut feeling he wouldn’t keep it and they’d end up going the tragic route. I’ve always drawn parallels between Lin Ling and Yang Cheng. Lin Ling was really a go-getter; he went for Moon and didn’t hesitate lol.

The phone call that Uncle Rock did was for the kidnappers

SLF needs more love

I think you're slightly off on Rock part. Since we do actually see Old E-Soul manager which was the other old guy with the glasses. Rock position is prob closer to like Shand (Shang De) who is the Ceo/Exec of the Corpo rather than the manager like that of Miss Juan (J) or the guy we saw. Shang Chao was technically Yang Cheng's Manager too until he died but yea.

Uncle Rock basically orchestrated the situation. He doesn't like Old E-Soul for reason unknown to us currently so outside of perhaps its being due to Old E-Soul being uncooperative with the Corporation. (They're also both from the same Corpo, it's just very easy to miss because its from mainly context clue rather than outright told to us) Whether Yang Cheng fails or succeeds does not matter to him, he basically just set up the situation and see how he can profit off of it. Since he's not directly involved, nothing could be pinned on him even if they do fail. i.e: The Kidnapping of Little Pomelo which led to Yang Cheng becoming a Hero, The Death of Shang Chao, and then when he did the advertisement/marketing to force Old E-Soul to use his Ultimate Its ironic that Shang Chao died because Yang Cheng hesitated due to his own inferiority complex, yet the time he chooses not to hesitate, was when he killed his Hero, ignoring the voice of reason

Tony funny thing to notice. If you go back to the end of episode 4 where moon get shot, aside from Ling Ling and moon there is a 3rd individual that looks familiar now :)

Rock was in disguise. He was just monologing. Rock is the manager of old E-Soul. He didn't like how E-Soul was not listening anymore, so he set his eyes on the young and impressionable Yang Chen. He basically groomed him into a new E-Soul that would serve him better as a puppet. This contrasts with the last arc. Lin Ling chose to be himself despite everything and remain true to his ideals. Yang Chen sacrificed everything to embrace his role as the new E-Soul.

The heroes are the public image but behind the scenes the CEO's manipule and fight over control. Also unc Roc had another reason for wanting to take down old E-soul but that for future epidoes. Don't respond to my message guys :)

Pretty much uncle rock orchestrated everything so young, so yang chen can become the new e soul And during the fight you can see that yang Chen hesitated to save his friend from the gunman because his jealousy won in that small instant also uncle rock is one of the higher ups in one of the hero agencies so his coffee shop was all a ploy

Unc Roc was moonlighting as the cafe owner to set up his own New E-Soul to replace the original, under his own agency instead of the competing dad's agency of the kid that died, where original E-Soul was employed/representing. So he: 1. Got his competition's son/legacy eliminated, and 2. Stole the E-Soul brand with his new E-Soul that killed the original. Edit: for proof that it's New E-Soul that lived, check 22:58 where you'll see the Cafe nook's chair set being moved in where he sat with Xia Qing. Edit2: I was wrong about original E-Soul working for a competing agency, him and New E-Soul both worked for Roc's and he got rid of original for being intractable, as mentioned by @HaruhiDream.
