Orb: On the Movements of the Earth Ep 2

We are 2 episodes in and I can already feel that this is going to be the Anime that I am thinking about for months after it is done...very thankful we have this media to consume and contemplate.

Orb: On the Movements of the Earth Ep 2

Sweet. Thx for the title suggestion

I've been pretty invested in your anime journey and seeing that you like orb and vinland saga, its pretty clear you like thought provoking and more mature themes. I'd personally recommend ping pong the animation, really unique animation and very nice writing. Honestly quite underrated and seems right up your alley.

This sounds very interesting to me

It’s not anime, but one Western animated series that hit me on the same level as Orb is Scavengers Reign. Honestly, it might even leave more open to interpretation. It doesn’t hold your hand, but it also doesn’t get lost in its own ambiguity. It trusts you to sit with the world it builds and figure things out without over-explaining or trying to be clever for the sake of it. Visually, it’s unreal—every frame feels like it belongs in a gallery. But beyond that, it asks some tough, essential questions about how humans relate to nature, survival, and each other. It’s the kind of storytelling that gets under your skin without shouting its message. Twelve episodes, about 25 minutes each—easy to get through, but it stuck with me in a way most shows don’t. It honestly shifted my expectations for what animation can be—especially outside of Japan. There’s real depth here, if you’re paying attention.

What a great luxury Tony's anime consumption right now is, orb, Psycho pass and samurai champloo at the same time🔥

Anime eras are so vastly different from one another. We went from bushy eyebrows manly men (this is when jojo parts 1 -3 came out, 1970's - 1980's) that featured no women, to the complete opposite and featuring only girls.. in highschool (moe era :X 2005 - 2013, steins;gate time) and many more (mechas used to be the only thing for years but not anymore, shonen is still going strong, etc. etc.). In this current time I think it's mostly isekais but I think we're at the tail end of it and transitioning to something different.. anime feels more western now. All of these phases have a few good shows and many bad ones lol. Also these are my personal notes, nobody refers to anime eras there's nothing agreed upon but I don't think anyone would disagree with what I say although the years are vague (moe is still around, a new gundam, a mecha anime, just released, etc.)

I love the monster soundtrack lol

Orb is amazing, the series gives you dread and inspiration all in one. I think a good recommendation for you would be Monster (2004), since you're interested in historical fiction/philosophical anime. It's set in 1980s/1990s Germany and Czechoslovakia. Though, the music isn't nearly as good as Orb
