Psycho Pass Ep 1

Ok, it is an exciting and pretty wild concept of law enforcement in whatever year this is.
Sounds like we have some familiar VA in this one as well. OP was pretty cool. Is that TK?
Looking forward to more of this.

Psycho Pass Ep 1

Comments

This I my favorite psychological thriller anime just over Monster. Glad you are reacting to it.

Rem is best waifu

Tbh, it's not like the quality of anime really changed a lot between like 2010 and the present, the expression "for being a decade old show it still holds up" is kinda obsolete at this point lol. Hell, there's more mediocre shows being made right now than before. Edit: also, my patreon app just changed me to episode 1 comment section for some reason, i thought I was in ep 4 lol

Lixien

This show is good, it gets you to think a lot of ethical stuff. Like from the first ep, kogami already told main character to shoot him if she doesn't agree with his decision. Not gonna spoil anything but this first season is really good.

Ooo i see thx

DrumRollTony

I think "missy" in the translation implies a lot more disrespect than the original language. "Ojou-chan" literally means "young lady," but "ojou" in particular usually refers to a young woman of high status or wealth, so if anything it's a somewhat formal and courteous way for an old man to address a young woman.

Guns in this remind me of the Lawgiver guns in Judge Dredd. Interesting first episode.

Jesse Miller

"urobutcher" (not his real name but the name his fans gave him) made this anime. Back in the day there was a bingo card people post every time he makes a new show lol. You can just google 'urobutcher bingo' and you'll see this first episode already checked off a bunch. He's still popular but the fame is fading. im not the biggest fan (he also made fate/zero) but it's not the worst. I remember liking psycho pass.. kinda! so im excited to rewatch

Fuji Nami

Bro got gibbed like its doom in the beginning lmao

Avalon

Never seen this anime before but that first episode already has me wanting more. Looking forward to reacting along with this

PandatheFur

Now that we're here, I'm pumped for this rewatch. I still remember a lot of the important details but for being 13 years old this show still looks good enough to have come out this year.

The gun has recognition system so the guy can’t use it

I was waiting for this to post so I could make the same comment. Ling Tosite Sigure is TK's band before he also started doing solo and collabs as well, and back in 2012 this is what introduced me to them and made me a fan and start looking up their other music. They've been a consistent source of musical quality ever since, but I still remember listening to the I'mperfect album over and over back in 2012.

Nick K

Haven't watched this since it came out. Looking forward to see if It holds up after over a decade.

So a story that the paralyzer failing scene reminded me of. I used to work retail and we got a lot of drug users through our store. One time the cops came running in and tase this man. Several times. He just was NOT going down and just bulldozing through the tasers. Like maybe the third time he finally went down. It was wild. But on kids not handling stress well. I think it's more that given the climate that kids grow up in (for an easy example, think of todays world post covid and how anxiety and depression in kids/teens has climbed significantly) that the assumption is that they aren't taught healthy means of actually handling the stress. Which leads to things like group hysteria/anxiety and etc. So this was an extreme example of that.

V.A.s you know; - Pale guy from first scene is Geto from JJK, Reigen from Mob and more. - Kougami is Daru from S;G - Akane is Mayuri from S;G Btw the extra scenes in the extended edition usually happen at the beginning and in the middle of the episodes (beginning of each episode of the regular version) if you want to take a look at them maybe I could send them to you for you to watch before each episode so it wouldn't be so long. Great reaction, I was sure you would love this show.

Loayza

Shogo Makishima (the voice you were asking about) also plays Giyu (the water hashira) from DS Suguru Geto from JJK and Reigen MF Arataka from mob psycho

Belac

Yea for sure

DrumRollTony

Minority report, but its anime.

Jet Man

Been waiting all day for this! Also yes thats TK with the band Ling Tosite Sigure in the OP

Alejandro Pupo

Yeah, this is probably The Anime that made Ling tosite sigure known to the anime community before the Tokyo Ghoul OP (Unravel) came around.
