Solo Leveling S2 Ep 8

That combat scene was probably one of the coolest things I have seen on here so far 👀

The biggest differences between the manwha and the anime is the depiction of Jinwoo. There are other differences like the timing of certain scenes being switched around for the sake of the pacing of the anime, or certain scenes being excluded that are more political in nature for the sake of world building, or giving side characters a little more screen time than they get in the anime, but for the most part Jinwoo’s story is being covered almost 1 to 1. The most noticeable difference is Jinwoo himself, whose personality was changed for the anime. Not too much, but some of his motivations are displayed differently. In the manwha, he’s a bit more ruthless, willing to let allies die if it means more enemies for him to level up from or get more loot from, but that’s mostly his inner monologue. He still helps people in the manwha, but he’s more reluctant to do so. In the anime, there are times we the audience know he could step in and help others, and he’s shown as being reluctant out of respect for their abilities or times when he’d be overstepping by claiming a dungeon for himself, as dungeons are purchased at auctions by the guilds and stepping in and defeating them without permission is the equivalent of stealing their property. But in the manwha, he’s shown several times hoping there are casualties so that he has permission to get involved. He’s more cold hearted in the manwha.

Yeah there was a lot going on animation wise for that fight. There was the characters, hand drawn effects animation, digital effects animation, digital rain, hand drawn rain animation and even the ground was hand animated. The madman for the fight is named Yoshihiro Kanno, he was the storyboard artist and animation director for the second half of the ep and animated most of the fight himself.

Frizen

That fight was epic but part of me wonders why he needs all those fancy assassin skills, weapons and his shadow army if he got the "Killer Move: Serious Series - Serious Punch" xD

Alexiel Knight

Esil saved jinwoo That lightning was going to disintegrate him but had she not distracted baran by throwing her weapon that gave jinwoo the time to invest in the strength and use rulers hand to rip his arms off. She's his Savior

The anime is stepping away from the manhwa, yes. While it isn't a large change, and not necessarily a bad one, it is definitely a 3rd iteration of the story. The web novel is the original and the 1st iteration. The manhwa is the second iteration and steps away from the web novel quite a bit as well. The people who are complaining are the ones that are in love with the version that they read and fell in love with first. Not taking away from their opinions, but I think it's kinda silly to complain about differences between the different mediums as that has always been the case between manga and anime. Personally, I welcome the change, I think it just gives us 3 different stories to follow, it would be pretty boring to just watch a carbon copy of the story retold 3 different times.

The anime was always meant to follow the web novel more than the manwha but they’re doing it justice. Yes there have been cuts to some content but not a whole lot and nothing super important and a few changes as well but the author is working with them so he’s greenlighting everything. There has to be cuts because there’s just no way to fit all that content with the air time they have and if they just did more episodes to make it a 1:1 adaptation people would complain that the pacing was too slow. TLDR: yes there have been cuts and changes but it’s still faithful and the pacing is great

Ross Lerma

You are correct, season one started with the failure of the 3rd raid I believe, though it may have been the 2nd or 1st🤷‍♂️
