Arcane S2 Ep 5
Added 2025-01-09 18:00:08 +0000 UTCThere were so many parts of the story in this episode that developed that I forgot to talk about some of them in the end. ALSO... massive audio issues I noticed only during editing. This whole time I thought when I fade my mixer level for the media volume down that the adjustment was also reflected in OBS... its not 😱 So my end episode talk is hard to hear because the music is blaring. Sorry about that. I know that was not always the case so not sure when this started happening. I'll add this issue to the list of things to trouble shoot. I am curious if Twitch streams are like that? I use a different instance of OBS for it. Hopefully not

2025-01-10 11:47:55 +0000 UTCnah your pretty much on point, Vander had a moment of rage after losing vi and powders mother, blaming Silco and that caused such a rift between the two that by the time Vander tried to apologise (leaving that note in their usual location) but Jinx comments that he never found it, what if he had all those years ago? Silco might not have held such a grudge against Vander which in time festered/creating the Silco we know in season 1. Which is also a really cool parallel to what happened between jinx and vi as well, history repeating itself...

2025-01-10 07:46:07 +0000 UTCFrom what I gather Vander and Silco were trying to establish the undercity as Zaun. Silco gradually gets more extreme and eventually gets to the point where he starts a battle between the top and undercity which leads to what we see at the start of the show and what ends up killing Vi and Powder's parents. Vander blames him for everyone's deaths and thinks Silco won't stop so he tries to kill him. Of course I could be completely wrong and Vander is just a psycho.

2025-01-09 21:18:08 +0000 UTCThe conflict between Vander and SIlco stems from their different perspective on how to handle the future of Zaun (undercity). In this episode's flashback we were seeing the early days of the under city and Vander's & Silco's determination to turn it into a proper place for people to live in. However, Zaunites were mistreated and oppressed by Piltover. Vander and Silco tried to start a revolution and lead the people of the undercity to fight Piltover. The very beginning of the series starts with the flashback of it, including imagery from the bridge with casualties and Vander taking in the Vi/Jinx. Though not shown, it was mentioned that those casualties included the parents of VI/Jinx. Since then, Vander changed his mind and wanted to call off the revolution, because he didnt want any more deaths and had to take care of Vi/Jinx. However, Silco was still determined to fight Piltover for the independence of Zaun, no matter what it took. Then, Vander stopped the revolution by almost strangling/drowning Silco. We see the apology for his actions in the letter shown in this episode. However, seems like Silco never found the letter After these events, Vander and Silco went their separate ways. Vander made a deal with the sheriff of Piltover enforcers (British sounding woman in s1) so that enforcers would back off from Zaun. While Silco was operating in the shadows, preparing to take control of the undercity in order to reignite the revolution (participating in shimmer creation and distribution, eliminating Vander and etc). Only in ending of the season 1, when Jayce offered Silco to give Zaun full independence in exchange for Jinx, SIlco finally understood the motivation of Vander: "Oh it all makes sense now, brother", "Is there anything so undoing as a daughter".

2025-01-09 19:15:57 +0000 UTCLast we saw them, Jayce, Ekko and Heimerdinger were all in that underground area and then the Arcane core went wild after they touched it and basically did something to all three of them. We don't know what happened with that, just that now Jayce is back looking like he's been through some shit and neither Ekko or Heimerdinger are with him. The scene with Vander and Vi hugging with the music playing in the background was absolute art, such an emotional piece that relates heavily with the characters it's great. I'm also not sure if you remembered, but in the past Vander tried to drown Silco under the water so that's why here the letter is basically him saying how he majorly fucked up and wants his bro back through all the bs they've both done. Blisters and Bedrock.
