Dan Da Dan Ep 12

LOL this anime is so comically stupid it's been a lot of fun 💀
I enjoyed it for sure!

This ending tho? The good part is that it 100% leaves in a situation that needs to be resolved. The bad part is that situation is massively creepy. I am left with a confident feeling of 'more to come'. Since we DO know more anime is coming I guess that ending effect is not needed as much but something a bit more final until then could have been a nice sweet spot? All good though as I enjoyed the tale of missing ballz.

Dan Da Dan Ep 12

It was really beautiful to be a part of this journey you went on with Dandadan. I was able to laugh a lot more when watching with you then I did when I watched alone! Also I could pay attention to the soundtrack more and would love to learn more about that dissonance flute thing you mentioned - the OST is called "momo".

all of this is to say, the reason SA and rape are so common in anime is that becuase its common in japanese society, and media is a way to hold up mirrors to the problems in a society, why, for example, there are alot of shows and movies about racism and bigotry in the US

Red Menace

Don't know if tony is aware or not, sexual assualt is really not a crime in most of japan, with an, at worse, fine of roughly $200, and has higher rates of rape and SA than most western contemperaries, now obv there is a big urban vs rural dif, but it is one of those things japan is know for unfourtuantly, like gun violence in america also alot, and i mean ALOT of SA cases go unreported in japan, only about 5-10% or rapes are reported, police only record/deal wiht half of those, and then prosecutors only go after about 1/3 of the police cases. basically for every 1000 rapes in japan only about 10-20 fo them face criminal prosecution, and less than half of those convicted of rape go to jail. https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/international-journal-of-asian-studies/article/is-rape-a-crime-in-japan/E5A43CF9D262C99C350C557A8419EB3B

Red Menace

Dan da Dan will be back in June-July of 2025. Apparently it wasn't intended to end at this point, but the studio ran into an issue, and so had to delay it.

Man so many people were pissed about where this season ended and I don’t blame them lmao. As a manga reader it’s frustrating they’d leave people off on the hot spring creep situation

Bleckers

Slam Dunk is one of my all-time favourites! I'd love it for Tony to react to it, but I'm waaaay too biased to recommend it, hahah. But if a Vagabond anime is ever made, THAT I'd recommend in a heartbeat, unless it's "Berserk 2016" quality, then I'd just cry in a corner and not even watch it myself.

Unbeknownst Man

Good catch - for a bit more info, Okarun sings the first two lines of the first Ending for Slam Dunk. Jiji sings the start of the chorus of the first Opening for Slam Dunk. Slam Dunk was a popular high school basketball anime in the mid 1990s. You can also hear squeaking like sneakers on a basketball court while they are singing.

Roosp

Jiji got a sledgehammer from the house's tool closet, it was very quick while they were alternating between momo's bath and thr house

AsbestosDust

Yeah, super awkward point to end but thankfully it'll be back relatively soon.

Leonard Martinez

Right!?

DrumRollTony

What am I supposed to do without granny...

LewdProxy

Around minute 3, Okarun and Jiji start moving around doing side jumps and singing the Lyrics for the Slam Dunk anime opening. Just a small Easter egg worth recognising.

Unbeknownst Man

Not a single person I've seen has had a different reaction to the stopping point of this season LMAO As a fan of the manga I would've preferred we stopped a little ahead of before those scenes taking places cuz Jesus what a WILD place to stop
