There are no blue roses in nature. It is quite rare for flowers to be naturally blue. But since 2002, they can be genetically modified. Fun fact: Ado often uses the blue rose in her artworks. Because before 2002, the meaning was "impossible" in Japanese floral language. But after the Japanese scientists produced them, the meaning changed to “dream come true”. And since Ado was born in 2002 and her dream has come true, she believes that anyone born in 2002 can also realize their dream.

I like how the music changed to a futuristic sound with the piano (I assume) at 18:15. Didn't notice that on my first watch

Regarding it looking different - I’m not sure if it’s the case with this episode, but it’s quite common for episodes to be outsourced to other studios (especially on longer seasons), so every now and then you get slightly different looks for eps, obviously they try to remain faithful to the original vision, but can have negative outputs for the overall visual cohesion (however positive sometimes as well).

I have seen blue roses at stores whenever my Mom would take me along to buy flowers for special occasions. I always wondered if they were naturally blue or not. This episode answered my question.
