Arcane Ep 7

I can't get over that fight sequence at the end....
LOL this show is just a perfection

Arcane Ep 7

Comments

I think this guy is just confused about what this scene is. Ekko doesn't have powers here, the scene is simply him baiting Jinx into the game they used to play as kids so he can predict what she's going to do. The Pocket Watch doesn't actually do anything.

Frizen

Not quite :) But it does have something to do with the watch

Chief Tiny

😶‍🌫️

DrumRollTony

Oh that's very cool

DrumRollTony

Ooooo yea. I forgot about that. Shit situation he got himself and family into

DrumRollTony

Never said he wasnt a piece of shit. He lost when he joined silco. But for this situation it was only for his duty as a father.

Jhon 1479

Its like Viktor said though, there is always a choice. He alone had all the evidence you could need to take down Silco and get the council and police on his side. He knew where Vi was imprisoned and that she was alive, and could have gotten Jinx to side with him via that information. He made the wrong decisions every step of the way.

FullHeart

Its not that he has his 'powers' here its just artistic foreshadowing and making the viewers associate him with watches and time. This way later on when we do see him with his abilities it wont feel jarring or out of place; as well as just giving a little nod to those who /do/ know where his story goes. Also hes not new bro... 😭😭 hes like... at almost 10 years old as a champ now, nvm when this first came out a year or two ago. Hes definitely not shoehorned in, hes just a character being introduced, with some sprinkling of foreshadowing because its just not /his/ time yet. With League theres just, so much going on in its world and lore, and while the story focuses on Vi/Jinx and Jayce/Viktor for the most part; Arcane is not actually about characters its about the world and how the world changes by the actions of different characters factions and their influence on each other so no, he fits right in with the writing. His 'influence' on the world just isnt as apparent yet bc its still to come.

When Jinx is walking on the bridge she is humming the song that she sings in the opening scene of episode 1 when they are also on the bridge

Magic Wuf

As a side note on Jinx’s mental health: I don’t think she has DID (dissociative identity disorder) because that would require her to have very distinctive alters with episodes of amnesia sprinkled in there while here she remembers everything she has done. Still, she clearly has some dissociative symptoms due to the trauma and survivor guilt she suffered for the events and the end of episode 3. I think the writers opted for a stylized BPO (borderline personality disorder) especially because of how she behaves with her caregivers (both Vi and, at this point, Silco). Those relations are clearly unhealthy and the anger issues are also very prominent in this disorder. Of course this is just me making assumptions and doesn’t really mean much in the grand scheme of things but I was always fascinated with how they represented her mental state and wanted to throw this out there if someone was interested

Matteo Morellato

It was recently shared that Arcane is the most expensive animated series ever, both seasons combined got $250M and with scenes like this all throughout the show, you can see why.

BlakStatik23

Oh really? Idk why I remember him being new

JoeyGuy7

Ekko was not the latest champion at the release of arcane. ekko was released in 2015 and arcane came out in 2021. pretty big gap there

Alex

When you talk about the enforcers badchoice, it wasn't actually a choice he had to do that to protect his daughter (remember when he foudn silco in her room last episode). Silco ordered hi to kill them that's why we saw in his expression that he was so conflicted .

Jhon 1479

He doesn’t have any “powers” here, I don’t think you should comment about this show anymore if you’re this unaware of anything lol. And he’s literally been here since the start, including immediately after the timeskip, so.

Chelly

In the game he's does some time stuff, but since this is a prequel it makes sense he doesnt. I just think its weird how little screen time he gets, feels like the storyboard was done and then riot was like wait can you put in our new guy. It's also been like 5 years since I saw this so I remember literally nothing about the rest of the episodes lol, he could play a bigger part. Hope the game info isn't a spoiler

JoeyGuy7

Does he have a "look into my eyes, you are getting sleepy" pocket watch thing going on?

DrumRollTony

If you've ever played league you know jinx does bad in melee lol

JoeyGuy7

I do feel like ekko is kinda shoehorned in, he was the newest character in the game at the time of release and all his stuff in the show is kind of rushed and his powers aren't really explained

JoeyGuy7

Fun fact the final scene with Ekko is a reference to his ultimate from LOL

Jack Allen

Also need to take notes from a certain fight in Naruto.

Frizen

This episode is stunning which makes me even more excited for the next 2 episodes. It's just a steady crescendo till the season finale

Marthan

Anyone that thinks they know how to do a flashback needs to take notes from that bridge fight scene 😂 on top of being just amazing it’s also a great time saver lol. And the animators decide to switch up the art style cuz why not also, Jinx knew he hesitated, that’s why she shared that look with him before attempting that, uh, murder-suicide at the end. He saw Powder and I feel like in that moment she felt like Powder, and wanted to die as Powder.

Chelly

I WAS SO EXCITED TO SEE YOUR REACTION TO THAT FIGHT SCENE LOL!!! it's so peak!!!

V STAN

LETS GOOO So hyped you saw this fight scene finally. It's the best
