And wait till you get to season 2 where they just make 30-50 min long episodes just because they can. From what I hear it cost them some money, but they're pretty passionate about this show.

2024-10-28 18:09:24 +0000 UTCThis episode has one of my favorite scenes in Re:zero (and I have a lot). Kind of like how you were talking about at the end there, it uses a lot of musical silence in it's pacing. So the music along with the color direction, lighting, composition, and the VAs' delivery on the lines, makes it so beautiful. I also just love how even though the implications of the dialog are so subtle the first watch through, because of how well everything is pieced together you can just FEEL the importance. And I think that's where this show really shines, it's that while the whole show is great, the way it handles those "special moments", they're just so beautiful and flawlessly put together.

2024-10-25 07:19:12 +0000 UTCYea the details of things can get a little scattered or just not the easiest to understand on a first watch for sure. In this episode, he learned that Shamans can do that Mana-Draining curse, but only two people can do it in the house (Beatrice and Puck, who she calls Bubby). Also that the sound of chains came last time before he died randomly and Rem's weapon has chains so perhaps in the hallway last episode it was Rem that killed him. He just continues to learn new things that recontextualize his past deaths and that's always fun to figure out if that's an aspect that interests you.

2024-10-25 05:44:38 +0000 UTCA show where screaming like crazy is at least done for justifiable reasons. Like waking up after having your arm ripped off. Also with regards to opening and ending songs this show is typically trying to cram so much into it's episodes that it's not uncommon to just not have the opening or ending play in a particular episode just so they get a little more episode time.
