Drakengard 2 OST - Vein of Grief

Comments

Drag-on Dragoon is the Japanese title, it was altered to Drakengard for the western release. The soundtracks are all named with the Japanese title. Yoshiki Aoi (Yo-She-Key Ah-Oh-ee [sounds almost like owie]) My ears are almost always drawn to string instruments. Particularly piano/violin and the like. Definitely a fantasy game. Hack and Slash mixed with raining fire down on your enemies from dragon-back. The second game in the series has a more 'heroic' feel to it compared to the first and the third in the series which harbor a much darker story and background. The Drakengard (Drag-on Dragoon) series is also tied to Nier, with Nier being a spiritual successor and even pays homage to the Drakengard series with bits of story. Keichi Okabe did the music for the third game after his work on Nier and went on to do the music for Nier Automata as well. I would love to see you do a full video on the difference between consonance and dissonance with examples. I love the technical aspects of music that you talk about but I am usually lost, especially with the jargon, because I don't have an educational background in music. I would fully support a "teaching" section on your patreon/youtube. This song from the soundtrack felt the most... normal... as far as the songs go and also happens to be my favorite from it. There are a few others I'll hit you up with to see what your analysis of them are; they definitely aim to hit some of the harsher sounds of the instruments that are utilized and I find myself drawn to them in an almost 'acquired taste' manner.
