You either just recommend it without saying anything and risk them disregarding,judging,and skipping it because it looked too "cute". OR tell them what it really is about and ruining the raw experience..

2024-09-27 21:12:47 +0000 UTCCastlevania one day surely. Honestly though having a decent idea of the kind of media that connects with you, I think Fate/Zero is right up your alley. The music in this one is a big standout for me. Yuki Kajiura is a phenomenal composer who has done soundtracks for many anime including a few later OSTs in Demon Slayer. Also while I enjoy the votes, I think picking your own shows every now and then is a great idea. Nobody knows what's gonna draw you in better then yourself after all.

2024-09-27 20:53:37 +0000 UTCI think some trailers will work better at selling you on shows than others just due to how some shows are great due to their complexity while others are more straightforward with their concepts, but picking stuff on your own impression is a great way to get a good variety. No system is perfect, so a mix of systems helps overcome that. I did personally hope Parasyte for October but it'll have its day.

It's the definition of "Don't judged a book by It's cover". You also can't really search what it's about or you'll get spoiled. If you ever decide to watch it, you would need to go into it completely blind. All you need to know is that it has the same writer and music composer as Fate/Zero

Not trying to argue or say it shouldn't be considered uncomfortable or off the table for anyone but that specific subject matter is more often than not exaggerated by critics or otherwise ignoring context/severity. Outside of some of the body horror stuff later in the series (which imo doesn't fall under weird stuff with kids and is just body horror involving kids which tbh isn't exactly "better") the weird stuff that people bring up, is to be blunt not actually the way it's criticized as being. The episode 1 naked thing is usually the first thing pointed out but that's honestly less graphic than episode 2 or 3 of Vinland showing bare 6 year old Thorfinns butt then getting spanked and is the same context of embarrassing punishment. I won't dwell on it anymore I just think it's unfortunate that the stuff being described is still getting described as portrayed in a way that it just isn't actually portrayed as. On the other hand if it's the degree of violence and suffering on display being taken into account then that's not being exaggerated as it's really really gruesome and I totally understand wanting to avoid that even if it's narratively warranted and treated maturely.

Regardless of which starting point is "correct", Fate/Zero is an amazing anime and almost all of them can be watched as a stand-alone series anyways. If you watch them in certain orders you can glean a bit more backstory/feels, but it's not strictly necessary.

BOY was I right but also no. Basically EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING is amazing about the anime. But. watching kids being tortured.... I've mentioned it before, but I think JoJo would benefit from being doubled, because it's a really long storyline, but of course I understand the limitations around your busy schedule as you mentioned when I brought this up last time. I personally feel that it could be done by simply not replacing an anime when it's done (such as when Oshi no Ko is done), and then taking the freed up timeslot to do JoJo instead. Though the downside is of course that you and viewers get one less anime, but I think the converse of stretching yourself too thin can impede your enjoyment. And One Punch Man should definitely be on the replacement to Mob Psycho 100, as it's by the same author, and you've watched enough anime to appreciate the parody that OPM is.

Here's hoping (among others) Monster and Neon Genesis Evangelion get their second chance down the line. NGE because it's not just timeless but monumental (as well as incredibly impactful character writing) and Monster because it's considered one of the best Seinen anime ever for damn good reason and feels right up your alley.
