Like first episode didnt need modern style crazy animation to be just insanly good. Its really work of art. I hope you will keep enjoying it, because there will be really slow part in the middle that not everyone enjoys. But god damn that first episode is insanly well directed.

I only watched this anime last year and it climbed the ranks to my top 3 favorites among countless other anime I've watched over the past 10 years. The mystery is just done so well and actually gets you intrigued in a subject that's always been notoriously difficult to tackle from a writing point of view without becoming too convoluted. And then once you get to the emotional moments later in they just hit you like a truck.

Your gonna be suffering through a lot of ambiguity but everything will be explained obviously. Also not sure if you know or not but John Titor, the person referenced during the time travel press conference, is a real internet conspiracy/meme from back in 2000 so the show is making direct references to real life internet culture.

2024-07-17 18:10:19 +0000 UTCYeah, Okarin has "chuunibyou" or "8th grade syndrome", they translate it in the subs as "desilusional" but yeah, it's just someone that kinda acts like they're a fictional character so yeah, he's talking non-sense most of the time, he's not totally gone tho, he still has his marbles and deep down knows that what he is doing is just bullshit lol. Also, his voice actor is Mamoru Miyano (Light Yagami from Death Note) edit: I just realized you watched Death Note in dub so this is irrelevant to you lmao edit 2: today you were introduced to Ling Yao in FMAB 15. He also has the same voicr actor... in the sub.

Daru (the super hacker) also calls okarin a "chuunibiyou" shortly after. Chuunibiyou is a japanese slang term for people that are quite simply delusional, like a middle schooler trying to be quirky and for example, saying they come from a lineage of kings of Atlantis, or other ridiculous crap like that

Some leave questions open and let you build your own version of what was the story about (hello Darker than Black :)). Others give you answers to at least most important questions but you need to survive some episodes of "extra ambiguity". Glad that you enjoy the show so far.
