Einar mentions earlier, talking about farming, how everything is new to Thorfinn. When he calls himself Thorfinn's friend, Thorfinn doesn't know how to respond. He's never had a friend before. Even that is new to him.

2024-07-19 08:52:16 +0000 UTCAfter watching your recent reactions to Vinland Saga I feel like I've got a solid suggestion for a series that shares a lot of aspects with Vinland Saga that you seem to point out as your favorites. Monster(74ep) would fit the aspects of mature/nuanced character writing, a deep narrative and is philosophically interesting. The main things it doesn't share is it's lack of action (in the way of fights and such) and it isn't historical fiction. Monster is a mystery/thriller series set in modern day about a neurosurgeon who for moral reasons defies the hospitals medical director, a choice that leads to completely unexpected consequences years later that he tries to make amends for as well as stop the consequences from continuing.

But episode 6.5 should actually be 7.5 as it fits perfectly with the beginning of episode 8.
