Thats fair. Its in my top 5 favorite shows of all time but its not for everyone. I wouldnt force anyone to watch it who doesnt care for that genre. It also helps that i separate what i like and dont like about the show. I can not agree on everything about MiA but can still enjoy it as a watcher for what a do love about it. Happy to see OddTaxi here even if it’s nowhere near popular enough to win. Steins;Gate is phenomenal although it’s a funny choice to follow up on Kaiju no 8 with how complicated it can get compared to how simple Kaiju is (not a good or bad thing). Looking forward to whatever wins!

Already apologized on discord yesterday but probably should on here as well. So before Tony gets the wrong idea about S;G. People often say it's a slow burn. Personally I completely disagree. It's just not your average shounen full of action. It's a mystery anime... really fucking good one too. Actually, it's still one of the highest rated anime of all time. That being said I'm kinda confused about one thing tho. Why no Fate in the poll? Idk if you've seen Minority Report (2002) but a lot of people mention that when Psycho Pass comes up. Odd Taxi is a vibe too with good music. Of course that only serves to the means of him being a part of the stereotypical VN reader character and made fun of, but still, this just shows how you can turn a fly into an elephant if you word it properly(do you say that in english?). Steins gate, made in abyss and black lagoon are some of my favourite shows of all time and I would recommend everyone to give them a chance at least once(or probably two times for steins gate if you got a low attention span). None of the shows I talked about are even remotely problematic, even if some of them are hard to stomach.

@gran_air made in abyss is very messed up, but not for sexual reasons, which is probably what tony was afraid of. made in abyss is messed up because of psychological reasons and because the of the way the characters see the world and their lives. the body horror aspect is of course also there, but, be honest, the actually graphical stuff that happens is far outshone by quite a few things and only hits as hard becaufe of your connecton you have to the characters. Also didn't really want to say that it's not worse than demon slayer or steins gate, just wanted to show that you can turn off someone off any kind of show, if you make it sound bad enough. Made in abyss is not mushuko tensei, that's the kind of stuff you think thrice about watching. EDIT: it's perfectly valid if you feel uncomfortable watching made in abyss, but tony has seen jojo's, death parade and attack on titan, I think he could handle it well both from a posychological and visual perspective.

Honestly, most other anime would probably fall out of the roster if tony heard about them. Spoilers for Shows on this list!!!!!! Steins;gate has a litera pedophile in main cast(although I don't remember if that was part of the anime or just the VN), nothing graphic here but still Demon slayer has pretty body horror as well as pretty questionable relations between younger/related characters, nothing in there is too direct, but neither is mia Black lagoon has a lot of stuf that's messed up, I legitimately cannot fathom how it got on this list but mia didn't. Child prostitution, child trafficking in general, heavy violence, torture... the list goes on and on and on. of course, most of the stuff in it is portrayed as bad, but our main character quite literally partakes in it, something that at no point happens in made in abyss, where the stuf that's bad is always portrayed as such. honestly just venting that made in abyss has somehow gotten it's reputation so damaged by disingenuous public discourse that people seem to think it's some kind of perverted fantasy. btw, all shows on this list are great and i like all of them.

In the manga it shows, yeah, but that's in extra illustrations and those are not in the anime, most stuff that's weirdly sexual is just perceived that way by either overly prude people or people who get presented stuff out of context.

The show is very good. But the author clearly enjoys lolicon content and it shows. The show sometimes is like weirdly sexual with characters that are children. If you can ignore it is amazing but yeah.

the only thing i'd consider "too anime" about steins gate is the constant tutturu but other than that, it's a grounded well written sci fi that really goes the distance to tie up all its loose ends

Odd Taxi is absolutely a trip. Love it. People really skipped it because they thought it was a furry anime or something. I'm so glad I did give it a go. It was like a Guy Richie movie.

Happy to see OddTaxi here even if it’s nowhere near popular enough to win. Steins;Gate is phenomenal although it’s a funny choice to follow up on Kaiju no 8 with how complicated it can get compared to how simple Kaiju is (not a good or bad thing). Looking forward to whatever wins!

Not watching Made in abyss for the kid stuff is a fair reason. Although If you want to hear excellent music, Tower of god maybe some time in the future. It’s made by the same composer as Made in abyss, but just without the creepy stuff and it’s also a great show about Adventures.
