i believe the part your asking about at the end was in the first season, lelouch used his geass on suzaku back then and told him to live, so whenever suzaku tries to sacrifice himself the geass kicks back in and basically puts him on autopilot to try to survive

Starting off the 4th with a bang.
God I love the frantic song when the nuke was launched. And when it goes off it instead switches to a quiet and somber song

Yeah that's why suzaku was pissed with Lulu last episode. All that "why did you make me want to live" talk was literal. Suzaku wants nothing more then to die on the battlefield cause he feels that that is the only way he can make up for : killing his dad, betraying his nation, allowing Euphy to die, all the kills he's done as a knight so far, being a Suzaku.
But because Lulu Geassed him with the command to "live" any time his life is in danger it kicks in and makes him do whatever it takes to survive. Kinda fucked tbh

That will be the final twist. Lelouch is actually just Mavis Beacon.

That scene where Zero geassed Suzaku is when they were stranded on that island in S1 with Kallen and Euphemia. They wanted to kill Zero willing to sacrifice Suzaku and Lelouch had to use Geass to save himself.
