If you watch other reactions to others shows him saying ''that's funny'' ''that's so ridiculous but it's funny though'' or even the other way: ''this is sad'' ''this feels so terrible but it's good storytelling'' and similar phrases like that are very common.

It still triggers Mob because it's something he's very anxious about, but it's more along the lines of "read the room". So rather than telling Mob that he's an idiot it's more that people were telling him that he doesn't understand the non-verbal clues of how to fit in.
