I just noticed, in the flashback Thors says he's going "Somewhere, not here" Which is how the village in Iceland is introduced in ep 1. Such a nice touch

2024-08-09 19:53:11 +0000 UTCFunny you mention aot, there is a line in the first half of the season by Askeladd: "Everyone is a slave to something". That line is basically a direct quote from a character in AOT and if you really compare them you realise they are quite similar, like shockingly so.

2024-05-28 11:39:59 +0000 UTCRemember Askeladd's life goal this whole time pretty much has been to wait for the King of his ancestors to come and to destroy/cripple the Danes to protect Wales. So him seeing the dramatic shift in Canute who he had placed his bets on is like a dream come true for him, which in part explains his reaction in this episode and why he's so willing to support Canute. Just another example of well written characters / motivations that make sense within the story and part of why I'd have Vinland Saga (and AoT) as my top 2 anime out of the hundreds I've seen.

Truly one of a kind at the moment, cant wait for you to experience the next season!

It follows a similar path as Rob Stark's whole journey in Game of Thrones (season 2&3 I think) and Berserk's Golden Age Arc. A young underdog prince is gathering forces and making allies along his journey of self growth and overcomes one obstacle after another against all odds. It's always so hype to see! Can't wait for more Peakland Saga!

In aot you got that crazy plot that drives you in, author keeps feeding you with only like 10% of the answers that you need to understand what’s happening, characters keep dying etc. meanwhile vinland has great unique characters, great character development and the simple story that sends some deep messages yet it doesn’t even feel complicated at all. You’ll understand this even more when you finish season 2.
