Besides, he could use some quality fun after so many "dark and gloomy" shows in a row, hahah.

It isn't that MOB is bad, but more of an acquired taste as far as animation goes. Music-wise, it has received praise from Tony. It seems Tony will put his professionalism to good use no matter how the acquired taste hits him Demon Slayer is still incomplete as far as the Anime goes. It isn't like Jujutsu Kaisen that leaves you with that "it" factor cliffhanger. It is also run of the mill. I haven't seen Re: Zero yet. I went back and viewed all previous anime on my list over but more with my ears this time. Tony's fault. Lol. I'm surprised Samurai Champloo didn't make it on the list. I believe it is the shortest but complete anime of the heavy hitters, story and music wise. I like Psycho-Pass and Parasite also. I'm glad that FMAB finally made it.

We're already watching a shonen after all, and just stopped watching another one that has a focus on fights (JJK). For variety, Re:Zero would be by far the most "different" thing he's watched.

The plot itself is pretty thorough with lots to keep track of. Effort is required for it. Think the other two are better candidates.

You wold absolutely love it. It's from the same studio as DS aka best animation ever but the story is much more up your alley.
