So this movie has a dub, and while Liz has a pretty good dub I can't fully recommend this one, cause Kumikos JP VA does such a good job that it's just hard to match. However there is one touch I absolutely love, when they are running in the rain and kumiko talks about worries of being left with regret at the end of all the effort. In the sub she just says "I believe it won't be in vain" but the dub line is "But that's (regret) all you'll ever have if you don't try. Trying is never a waste." I think that's just so beautiful as a reflection on her character arc and how far she's come. In general its great but means so much coming from her. It also feels a lot more in line with what shes trying to get across here, so its kind of a bummer that the subs miss out on such a big moment.

2025-06-11 05:03:53 +0000 UTCSeeing the art style change with Liz and the Blue Bird, and then going back to the first style with this film was certainly strange, but these two movies have truly cemented this series as an absolute favorite for me. I think the emotional ride of the first and second season hit harder for me, but that is also because this film finishes with asking us how we deal with failure. To reach for getting gold at nationals and not even advancing to nationals. It really sucks. I remember having that same feeling with the state level competitions my junior year of high school, having what I thought was the best high school band we had in the three years up to that point, just to fall short. But where you find that headspace to be thankful for the experience and the motivation to improve for the next year...

2024-07-23 21:35:10 +0000 UTCI dont know if you read comments on your older videos, but you mentioned how out of step the walk in that one shot is. It was angle shot on rhythmic walk, and i think the storyborder hated animator in charge of it, because that sounds insanely hard to animate.

I thought that she had rejected him in the past + giving him the cold shoulder for the entirety of season 2, so I was confused. But maybe i have no idea what im talking about. The frustrated first year euphonium needs to have some good listens of In the End after that

2024-05-05 03:11:45 +0000 UTCThe Ensemble movie covers the events of the rest of their school year. The Japanese school year starts in April and ends in late March. Right now with the ending of this movie you are around summer time on the timeline. S3 events starts with the 3rd school year in April. So if you start S3 without seeing it you will have missed like half a year.

Usually when I see this type of character archetype it's usually someone faking being really nice, but Kanade seemed to play the field to the side and then when she saw a chance to get someone to open up to her she'd get really pushy and try to force it out. I feel like her chaotic nature could just blend into her actual personality now, like a class clown type of thing

A lot of the places in the show can be visited IRL, including Kumiko's bench (there were 10 people taking photos of that bench when I visited lol)

Kumiko especially has the steel, although it's covered with velvet Nice that we got to see the ex-third years show up! And it's a shame that the ex-second years weren't able to lead the band to victory, although it was in dire need of rebuilding after the previous years of disruption. But they did what they could to leave it in a better position than they inherited it. On to next year!

Euphonium: Ensemble Contest Arc" movies 1 and 2 are recap like you said, so they aren't a must watch unlike ensemble contest
