Fun reaction! I liked your reaction to some of the transitions and key changes. I wonder if it would be good to send him some Touhou arrangements from more professional circles? There are lots of professional bands, studios, orchestras, etc. that might have more of the sound he's looking for. It'd be nice for him to hear the unique Touhou compositions and melodies in a style that's more familiar, like metal from Demetori or bossa nova from Shibayan Records.
