I'm not sure if anyone told you but not only do their voices get transmitted through the para-raid but so do their feelings. If someone has anxiety while talking with you so will you. When people are screaming in anger or fear it ripples through everyone and it can get super heavy. Makes the last couple of episodes a little heavier with Theo lashing out to Lena

That whole segment with the voices sounds incredible with the "I don't want to die" cutting through the noise and the soundtrack behind it. Sound design team killing it

Remember that the General told Lena that “handlers were committing suicide because they were haunted by the voices of the dead”, it was meant to be taken literally. Moreover with how the PARA-raid works they hear them directly into their head and not through an headphone or other means which makes it 10x worse. On that note Shin is the only one that constantly hears the Legion, the other members of the squadron only hear them because they are connected to Shin during fights exactly like Lena and other Handlers

Sawano's parts of the soundtrack are all as amazing as you'd expect, but my favorite songs on the soundtrack are actually from the other main composer Kohta Yamamoto. 2023-12-05 18:42:32 +0000 UTCWhen you started the reactions I binged up to this episode and had to take a break, I'm not always shaken by media, even more so anime, but putting yourself in the shoes of the soldiers here it feels so damn hopeless, fighting a war you likely have no chance of winning, no chance of escape either, all while the commanders are spending their last days in luxury they deny you. Damn. Maybe there's some catharsis in knowing the idiots who force you to fight will be wiped out soon as well.
