199 - Dev Blog

Hello, hello! Holy smokes! Sunday there was a flash flood where I live. I live at the foot of a mountain and one of the sources of the river that snakes its way through my city has a source in that mountain. Somehow, someway, it overflowed badly and released a flash flood, we’re still not sure the reason, I’ve seen it rain a lot more before and this has never happened. We got lucky so damage on my street has been minimal, the only annoying thing is that all the mud that was brought by the river dried and now the whole neighborhood is surrounded by a haze of dust whenever a car passes by, feels just like when I was a kid and all the roads nearby were dirt roads.


So! As you’ve probably noticed by now, there was no release on Friday… WE APOLOGIZE!



The art was a bit behind because Banshee was sick all week and we both suffered with the thunderstorms that hit our region knocking out the powers multiple times over the last development cycle. Since the art was a bit behind, we decided that the best thing to do was to delay the release rather than have Banshee work 28 hours in a day to rush the work that was behind. We’ll be working on finishing the release and then some, so the release will be bigger and juicier for the delay! Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.


Banshee worked mostly on the variants for the scene with Yda and tried to get everything else ready for the new scene, such as Catherine's lovely (and very small) cow outfit.  She also started working on some new battle gear for Cath, that will be needed for a new battle variant! 




Vane finished his work on preparing everything for the release and then began working on fixing a few bugs. He spent time investigating one bug in particular that has so far eluded him, which caused some save files to become corrupted and have events out of order. He finally figured out what was causing the issue and fixed it! He’s really happy about that as that was the worst bug in Rise so far and he finally managed to get rid of it!
