I'm trying to write these other series, looking for one that might catch on like my others. Let me know what you think about this idea and how the story starts out. Think military academy with bonding to celestial or giant creatures. Lots of twists and turns and struggle for our MC Ayla.

In the storm-battered city of Windscar, Ayla’s life has been anything but ordinary. Her brother, Kael, was a legend—one of the few from their people to bond with a Celestial Roc Queen and not only survive, but excelled at the brutal Tempalis Military Academy. But when Kael fell in an unexpected ambush, saving the stormlands, Ayla’s world shattered. Now, she carries the weight of his legacy, along with his crippled roc, Nulina, and the unspoken guilt that gnaws at her soul.

Recently passing her twentieth cycle, Ayla is finally old enough to enter the very academy that claimed so many lives, most of which are female casualties. For those who survive the trials, the rewards are boundless—highborn status, a place among scholars or military elites, and even the chance to marry into nobility. But the road is harsh, and the mortality rate for those who dare to dream is painfully high. Every year, protestors gather from the lowlands and stormlands, voicing their anger at the academy’s survival-of-the-fittest mentality, while the kingdom’s elite look on from their highland perches, untouched by the eternal storm.

Ayla’s people, the Solaraeth, took refuge in the Tempalis Kingdom generations ago, protected by the mighty Roc King. But this alliance comes at a cost. Ayla, determined to follow in her brother’s footsteps, is prepared to face whatever dangers lie ahead, even as whispers of discontent rise among her people from generations of heavy losses and the push for higher birthrate amongst the youth.

With a rich legacy that the Elders speak highly of, much of which the youth, including Ayla, disregards as stories, Ayla must enter the academy and bond with her own creature. Will it be one of the legendary black eagles, like her revered brother, the Celestial rocs, or perhaps a raven lord calvary unit, or...something no one expects?

Torn between loyalty, guilt, and the weight of her people’s expectations, Ayla must decide if she will simply survive or rise to claim the legacy her brother left behind. RISE is a story of survival, sacrifice, and self-discovery, where one woman’s journey into an unforgiving world becomes a battle for her soul, her family, and her future.
