custom character and Ellie

what I mean by “custom character”:
→ the ability to assign them a name;
→ a fully clearable system context;
→ visual asset sets for any of the game’s characters, and, in the future, the ability to upload your own visuals (webp, cut out with a transparent background)
what about Ellie?

last year someone asked to add Ellie; at the time I thought it was interesting, but it’s been quite a while since she’s received any updates and I’m considering what to do with her.
her visual design wasn’t created by me, and it’s not as interesting to develop or create visuals for her. I’d like to give her spot either to a new sandbox character or to implement a custom one in her place - keeping Ellie only as a skin.
what to do with Ellie and is a custom character necessary?

Ellie’s appearance and personality will remain in the game - u’ll be able to select her as a custom character. essentially, the only change is that she’ll lose her spot on the start screen

2025-04-27 21:19:52 +0000 UTCI actually enjoyed Ellie as a character but if you're gonna change it, then definitely the custom character so I can add her back or just create something from scratch anyway. It leans into one of the major if not then primary factors that make this game unique and enjoyable which is customisation.
