Today has conspired to keep me from doing everything but working. This included stuff to get ready for the new Cozy Isekai 2 launch coming up in a few days, and even a stray dog on my porch. Yes, not for the first time, a dog appeared out of nowhere and would not leave my back porch. This time around, it was a nice little dog instead of a Great Pyranese like last time. This dog also had a collar with a name tag and numbers.
I think she might be some sort of cross between a pug and a chihuahua. Or maybe terrier and chihuahua.
Her name is Lucy. When I met her, she was super freaked out and skittish. She trotted across my porch while pooping, yes, moving and pooping, and kept going. I called but she ran away at first. She was running in what I knew was the wrong direction from where she most likely lived, since I kind of know the lay of the land in my somewhat rural area. After I called her over, I saw her name tag, called her by name, established a little bit of trust and I thought about what to do.
She's definitely an adult and kind of small, and there were other bigger dogs around, maybe coyotes, too. So...I brought her inside where she proceeded to slowly calm down from her stressed state.
I was able to get ahold of the owners after a while and found out she's a mostly outdoor dog and it was weird she was lost. The owner couldn't get her right away, but told me where they lived, so I walked the half mile or so with Lucy following me until she recognized her house and ran home. I thought everything was done. ...but then she ran to catch up and followed me back. I think someone was shooting near her house and the sound was freaking her out. Anyway, we're friends now, and she likes my porch, so she's out there now ...just chillin. If she's still out there later tonight or her owners call, I might have to walk her back home again.
So...TLDR, I randomly and accidentally made a doggo friend but it ended up taking time out of my work day. :/
