My new chair

Hey everyone!  After chatting with you all on here and on Discord, I decided to get a Secretlab Titan 2022.  Ultimately, I didn't want to give up on the form factor of a gaming chair, not least of which because I write GameLit and LitRPG.  Surrounding myself with fun, geeky stuff seems to help my creative process.

I also got the House Stark special edition (and there's a Valentines Day sale going on.  Whether there's always a sale of some sort at Secretlab, I don't know).

After putting it together yesterday, I'm pretty happy with my decision so far.  The chair is working out pretty well.  I just need that new foam smell to go away.  I'm pretty sure you know what I mean.

Since I am not a fan of GoT anymore, you might be curious why I chose the GoT look.

First, the colors go with my office.  lol.  Maybe I can take a new picture of my office setup for you all later if you're interested.

Second, a GoT chair reminds me that as an author, we are only as good as our next book.

Third, it's a reminder that even the biggest fans will sour on creators that stop working midway through a project.

Fourth and last, it's a reminder that my career and aspects of my writing are built upon the foundation of  decades of fantasy writers before me...including GRRM.  To be honest, this point probably would have been better served with a LoTR chair, but then I wouldn't have the #2 and #3 reminders...and Secretlab didn't have LoTR. :P

So there's some symbolism here.  It's just how my mind works.

I hope everyone is having a good day, and I hope to have another chapter of Delvers LLC 5 up today!  Work is speeding up now that I've done my required brush-up.

As for my old chair, the one that I beat up with probably 10 books written since a reader bought it for me, Melli has claimed it.  It's still in my office and she nests in it now when we watch movies at my desk.  Last night we saw "Spectral" on Netflix, and it was actually pretty decent if you can suspend disbelief about one engineer doing the work of an entire team.
