Station Servant - 11

After reading the last message from Leslie, Dani, Leo and Sam had to know what happened to them. Leslie mentioned that they were emigrating to America onboard a grand ocean liner. However Leo pointed out something disturbing. Leslie wrote that they were boarding the “brand new” ship in Southhampton in about a week. He then dates the letter 3rd of April 1912.

The RMS Titanic set sail from Southhampton on its fateful voyage on the 10th of April 1912..
They showed Alex the letter, and he too was shocked when he saw the date.
So the 4 of them set about researching to see if they could find out what happened to Leslie and Henry.

Alex using his MI6 skills delved into the 1912 archives. Leo & Sam looked through the survivor reports and Titanic forums, and Dani, for some reason.. Was looking at Alex's giant Lego Titanic model with a magnifying glass for clues.. They were really hoping that their story had a happy ending.

Later that day Alex came to talk to them about what he had found. He had read the original Titanic passenger list. Listed on the 2nd class passenger manifest were Leslie Evans and Henry Winn..
When the Carpathia arrived in New York after the disaster. The officials recorded the names of those who had survived. Alex checked and double-checked the list. Leslie and Henry were not among them.

Dani, Leo and Sam’s hearts dropped. Though they had never even met them it was painful to hear. They were devastated.

That night Alex was talking to his American cousin Alice about Leslie and Henry. It was such a sad end to their story. Alice though replied with something interesting.

Later in the week Dani, Leo and Sam were still really down. They were sat in the dining room talking about Leslie and Henry. Wondering what their last moments must’ve been like, as the mighty ocean liner was consumed by the frigid Atlantic. Dani who was terrified of deep water didn't even want to think about it.

As they were sat there Alex walked in with a parcel that had arrived earlier that day. Placing the box on the table he said. “Got something that might interest you 3. You know my cousin Alice, the annoying American who works at the CIA. Well 8 years ago she bought some old dilapidated farmhouse in South Carolina. While refurbishing its basement to build her own little bondage dungeon, she found an old chest with some photos and books inside”. He pulled out a book and opened it to a page he’d bookmarked, then handed it to Dani and said. “Read this”.

Dani took the book and read it out loud as Leo and Sam stood up and looked at it over his shoulders. It was a diary, the page was dated 11th of April, 1912. They instantly recognised the handwriting. It was Leslie’s!

“Well Master is still really pissed with me. It's not my fault I fell out the train window. They shouldn't make them so big. I was lucky I landed in that bog. Though I did nearly drown.. Master pulled the emergency cord and climbed out to rescue me, but the train then sodded off without us. So we had to walk to the next station and catch another. The guard gave me some right dirty looks. Guess he wasn't happy about me getting mud all over his carriage. We made it to Southampton just in time though!
To see the Titanic slowly steaming away.. Yeah, we were too late”..

Dani in shock looked up at Alex, who just smiled and said. “They didnt go down with the Titanic, they were never even onboard”.

Dani, Leo and Sam were so thrilled and relieved. He continued reading the diary.
“She wasnt going to stop for us. So as she was leaving the harbour Master said I may aswell pose for a photo. Despite how annoyed he was, he was still eager to try out his new portable camera.
Anyway after practically begging, and a few under-table favours.. I managed to get the White Star Line ticket officer to switch us to the Olympic. Downgraded to 3rd class, but it's better than nothing. Plus the things pretty much identical to the Titanic anyway. So, we will still get to America, just a little later than planned”.

The next few pages Leslie talks about how he and Henry had booked into a nice little hotel in Southampton until the Olympic was due to sail in a few weeks. Also that they had to buy new clothes, as all their belongings were loaded onto the Titanic. Erich was going to pick the stuff up for them though on its arrival. So for the time being they pretty much just had what was on them when Leslie fell out the train window. He also mentions that the key to his chastity device was in Henry’s trunk, in Titanic’s cargo hold..

The boys were so happy that Leslie and Henry weren’t on board. The entry on the page dated 16th of April though gave them chills. With a clearly shaking hand, Leslie just writes 2 words.
“Titanic sank”.

For several pages/ days after the diary is just blank. Leslie normally fills unused pages with doodles. It took him a while to start writing in the diary again. He expresses huge relief that they missed their boarding, but also clear survivor guilt. With Henry's help though he slowly returns to his normal self. He talks about how they pretty much live at the hotel now. White Star Line had pulled Olympic from service because of the sinking to be overhauled.

Eventually though, in the next diary Leslie talks about finally boarding the Olympic when it reentered service. And being terrified for the entire journey. Barely sleeping and keeping a constant lookout for icebergs..

After a nerve-fraying voyage, with Henry doing his best to keep him calm. They finally arrived. Holding his Master’s hand they stood on the deck and looked up as the Statue of Liberty slowly drifted by. They had made it at last.

You didn't seriously think I was gonna end their story on such a dark note did you? :3
No, they made it eventually. Saved by Leslie's natural femboy ditziness.
And lived out the rest of their lives happily on their little farm. Which years later becomes the home of Alice, and Danni, Dani’s kinky Canadian doppelganger.
I never expected this to turn into a full on story-driven series. It was just my silly weekend uploads. IE art I make when I dont have much time to work on anything substantial. But I grew really attached to Leslie, Henry and Erich ^^.
Maybe I’ll revisit them sometime. time travel? XD anythings possible in the RBD universe, as you probably know by now haha :P
Also this was actually a really hard image to work with too. Not drawing old Leslie in his little Edwardian dress. But resizing, sharpening and colouring the old low-res photo of Titanic.
