What's been going on?

Alright, so apologies for not having uploaded anything yet this month, but I genuinely don't have anything actually new to show, besides this.

Earlier this month I started work on my new desk, which was planned, ordered and built all by myself, with the exception of some help during the final stages of assembly and the raising mechanism (which is an IKEA BEKANT table base with a custom desk surface).

I think I might have mentioned the want to have this a couple' times, either here or in the public galleries, but it took until now to have the funds, time and opportunity to put it all together, so, after tripple-checking all the measurements, late October I put in the order for the boards and base (and I still got some of them wrong, as I suppose you are want to do =w= )

I'm going to be picking up one last bit of non-custom material today to build into the right side today and then all the junk I had to take out of the old desk will be moved in.

Now this desk is not just a luxury I afforded myself, but was actually born of necessity. I'd complained about shoulder and back issues plenty of times before and I'd talked with my orthopedist about it, who suggested I get an adjustable standing desk.

Given our living situation, I couldn't just get any old system, mostly for space reasons, but also because I needed the desk to rise just that little bit higher than it naturally would because of my height. As you can see, my corner is somewhat cramped and the stuff that used to be in the old desk needs to go somewhere too, so I had to come up with a structure that would allow for storage space, while also accomodating the standing desk - the result is what's here now and I couldn't be happier with or prouder of it X3

The desk has been standing for some two weeks now and I'm still working out a kink or two, but it should be full operable by the end of the week, at which point I will also return to regularly scheduled artwork and thus will be putting out pretty and rendered stuff for you guys to view again :3

In the meantime, I'll be making two uploads here, one now and one later today, comprised of what sketch collections I was meant to be uploading this month anyway. It's a little weak and I apologise for the lack of actual new content, but I didn't anticipate this project to take most of the month, despite being aware of murphy's law and linear project progression.

I hope you can forgive me for this lapse and that you stick around for more artwork as I continue to produce it, now in a much more physically healthy environment :3
