Development Update #22

Hey there! 

First of all: Thank you for your support as always. 


Today I'm here to talk about the next alpha. Since I've got not a single text issue from you guys, the next alpha will be the 0.14.


What I'm hoping to bring to you guys are:

- New Design for Wagner Portrait with two variations visible in-game. One with clothes and another with swimming trunks.

- The new Day 3 will be playable on Route B at least.

- Lots of fixes in-game that I've been working on.

- Karnal's callings for his character portrait will be fixed to maintain a pattern on the code.

- Wagner's entire Day 1 and 2 will be fixed to call his new portrait.


I usually try to explain these little steps because sometimes it looks on the outside I didn't do much, but, every time I need to change how character portraits work, I need to visit every single day and fix every single call. The code is case-sensitive so it needs to be flawless.


About the story, I already have a small version of it, for every part. I need to expand this into actual dialogs and stuff, so I'm working on that while Wagner's working on the new character design for his route.

He's also working on the new backgrounds. And I'm making this a priority: For him to finish his character art and then for him to finish all the backgrounds the game is using for now. 


The map will have a re-design soon too, I want to make something similar to Morenatsu, that game used to show a world map too, and usually, it shows what character is in each area. This is not something I need for this game right now but as far as I can see, if the game makes some kind of success, I can add another three characters, maybe some of them as Patron Reward Tiers! I already commented on it a long time ago, but yeah. Even if the placement of the game is limited, it's possible to add two routes in the same area. It will need some adjustments via routes in-game, but it's nothing extremely difficult. 

But that's not a thing I can make right now, for now, I'm only concerned about making the game as intuitive as possible.


Since the story is such a major thing on the game, I decided to put the Gallery on hold again. The third day is more extensive than the second, and I need to make sure that:


- The B route to be as ambiguous as possible, with that I mean: This route needs to look good in both ways - You already know Wagner, and you just met him. So it doesn't matter if you know him or not, the B route needs to be a more calm version of himself, if you know him, that's how he is every day if you don't know him, that's how he is with new people. Not intimate, but not a closed person either. 


In this game, there's not a thing such as a bad route. Of course, there will be actions on the end of the game that can break the entire route, but if you do that you won't be able to find that character again. EVEN if he's at a place marked on the map. But I'm not wanting to make a "Bad - Neutral - Good" thing. For now, there's a Neutral Route, the B route. Some BAD dialogs, yeah, but nothing that will make the character on the route to be a jerk with you. There's the Good Route, or what I call A route. And the Perfect Route, the -S- one. This is all made with points. If you have enough points, whenever you answer something you'll be redirected to better dialogs or not. 


Originally the Third Day would give you some lewd content, but I decided to move that to the sixth day instead. Just friend IS a small game, even if I add a lot of characters, the period from the game IS six to seven days tops. However this day will be the one with more dialogs so far, and on the S route, I pretend to write some good stuff for you guys.


Now, for me to put more images on the game (lewd ones), I will need to save more money to pay Wagner for it. The portraits are pretty expansive by themselves, so I hope whenever I close the official Beta for the game, for that beta to bring as much help as it could. Because the more people helping, the more I can make more lewd scenes and add NPC's to the game either. That's a thing for the future not for now.



Anyway, guys, I'm working like crazy on this new build for a month already, and I wish I could like, spend the entire day working on the game. One day this will be possible, but for now: Thank you so much for sticking with me, even when the updates aren't coming as fast as we wanted.
