アナログお絵描きとデジタルお絵描きと / DRAWING IN ANALOG OR IN DIGITAL

　私は絵を描くとき、紙と筆記具を用いたアナログお絵描きも、パソコン一つでできるデジタルお絵描きも、どちらも楽しんで行います。 　皆さんは、アナログお絵描きとデジタルお絵描き、どちらを楽しみますか？ I like drawing both in traditional style (that is, drawing using paper and a pen and/or pencil) and in digital style, which involves just using a PC. Which of them do you enjoy more? Traditional, digital, or both in the same way? 　アナログお絵描きにも、デジタルお絵描きにも一長一短があると考えています。 　まず長所を挙げると、アナログは特別なデバイスを必要とせず、どこにでも持ち歩ける道具で描けることです。紙と鉛筆やペンがあればいいわけですから。 　デジタルの長所は、消しくずが出ないこと！そして、ペンも絵の具も鉛筆も機械ひとつに納まっていて、かさばりもしないし失くす心配もないことです。それに特別な道具を使わずとも、デバイスひとつにさまざまな表現のできる機能が備わっていて、手軽にエフェクトを掛けられるのも利点です。 I consider that traditional drawing and digital drawing have both their own merits and demerits. Let me talk about the merits first... Traditional drawing does not require specific items for drawing; all you need are paper and a pen/pencil, which you can easily carry around. The merits of the digital drawing are, first off, giving no eraser dust! And the apparatus you use contains pens and paints all together and still is not bulky at all; and you will not have to mind about losing any of the drawing instruments. Another merit is that the apparatus provides the function for various drawing effects which are very useful for giving optical expressions. 　欠点としては、アナログは華やかなエフェクトを施すのが困難なこと。そもそも特別な道具がないとエフェクトを掛けること自体ができないことも多々あります。また、ネット上に手軽にアップロードするのも難しいです。いちいち写真に撮ったりスキャナーで読み込んだりしなくてはなりませんからね。 　デジタル側の欠点は、いつでもどこでも描けるという手軽さに劣る点です。パソコンやタブレットだと鉛筆とノートのようにいつでもポケットに忍ばせておくのは難しいですし、スマホのような小型の機器でも電池の残量を気にする必要があります。また、指先を動かして得られる細かな表現は、アナログのほうが優れていると常々感じています。 Now let me talk about the demerits. In the traditional style, florid effects are hard to use; adding effects itself is often impossible when there are no drawing tools specified for them. Uploading on the Internet is also difficult, because you have to take the photos of your works or scan them to take them into the computer. Demerits of the digital drawing is that it fails in the handiness of drawing at anytime and anywhere. You cannot put your PCs in your pockets as easily as you simply can with the pens and a paper memo pad. Small apparatus such as a Smartphone can be kept in your pocket, but they have the risk of running out of battery while using them. And I usually feel that traditional drawing excels digital drawing in giving the fine and slight expressions by manipulating the fingers. 　私は、手で描く楽しさや充実感も、パソコンで描く手軽さや新鮮さも、どちらも大切にして楽しんでいきたいと考えています。だから今後も両方のお絵描き方法でいろいろと絵を描いていくことでしょう。 I would like to keep enjoying both methods, drawing by hand with joy and fulfillment, and drawing on the PC which provides readiness and freshness. So I will keep drawing in both methods, now and in the future.
