13:40 I mean for them he Snow is the guys who was in Mance's side and nights watch has very successful history of defending the wall ( 8 times) so they might not be that convinced just by Snow's words. Besides sealing the tunnel means they can't patrol other side of the wall (effectively making rangers useless) so it is not strange that Thorne doesn't want to lose his life's purpose. Still wrong decision but they don't know all the facts...

I think he is really obsessed with Cat, but it’s not a genuine love but a possessive and idealized affection. He ultimately loved the idea of her and the power her connection represented, so his relationship with Sansa proves that he transfers the obsession to Sansa as a replacement Catelyn trying to possess what he lost. I’m trying to say he’s not lying and not trying to play anyone when he claims Cat was the only love of his life, it’s just that the only kind of love he’s capable of feeling is this obsessive, distorted version of it
