Book 2 Launch: 31st May

So I finally have a launch date planned for Book 2; 31st May. It'll be a hard run to get there, but I think it's doable. As such I'm pushing the current build from development to beta, and getting ready to clean up the last lose ends.

If you haven't already, one thing that's super useful for helping it have a great launch is giving it a wishlist here. Wishlist entries help Steam's analytics pick up which games are likely to do well at launch, and makes it more likely for it to show up in places like "coming soon" and "new and popular" lists. It's an easy and free way to give a game you support a boost at launch.

What's in the new Beta branch build?

Well, story's now complete to the end of Act XI: The Black Sun. It's been a real rush; I hope you enjoy it.

I added in all the memories, so you can go back and see the images and videos from the beginning.

I also added collectible card-backs; 25 new card backgrounds to collect; some unlock from story, while others unlock from side quests.

I removed the old Strategy game, and replaced it with a new Military Points system that I'll be expanding on a little. It's mostly for flavor text, but I think I might use it to gate additional content in Book 3.

So what's left?

- I still have the new Elsewhere enemies to add in. I'm thinking 3 new sets (soldier/knight/lord) , designed for high tier poker players that want a workout for their decks.

- I still need to set up my wandering salesman, who'll appear on a random point in Elsewhere each time you enter the map. He'll give you access to various unique gems that promote different metas.

- I'm working on Achievements; likely I'll have 50-60 of them. You can check out my list of planned achievements here (note, slight story spoilers for those of you who haven't played the game yet). Feel free to make suggestions in the comments; no guarantee I'll add them all, but I'm always happy to hear suggestions :)

- I have 3 quests I need to complete. Natural Born Killer needs a final event, A World Apart will finish when you meet the travelling salesman, and Neutral Ground will end with a drinking party in the Crowley.

- I need to go through and make sure Military Points are taken into consideration at the various points.

- And finally bug fixing, typo passes and cleanup. 

And once that's done... Book 2 is done. It's been a real journey, and I learned a lot. I've pushed Act XI to the Beta Branch of Book 1; as always, if you're a Patreon and want a Steam key, just let me know. Once I start writing Book 3, I'll be pushing it to Book 2's Beta/Development Branch.
