Yeah I have to agree, I do have some mixed feelings on this episode. On the one hand, there's so much to love about what we do get, but on the other hand, it does feel like some of the inevitable potential struggles of adapting a written source to an episode with a set run time do get walked right in to here. In some ways, I feel like this episode either needed to be just 15 minutes long, or 40 minutes long. In either of those cases, I really believe that there was the potential for this to be one of the great episodes of this story, but the actual execution leaves us sitting in this difficult middle ground where we do get conclusions (and the conclusions we do get are excellent, and fascinating!), and we do get some set up for where we go next, but, neither of those things truly feel like they get the room to breathe. That said, that's not to say that I disliked this episode, and, watching this again some years after first watching it, I have to say that the moments that have stuck in my mind from this episode are those great moments in that burning library, and I have to admit the weaknesses of this episode had faded from my memory a bit, which, I don't think is a bad thing, that with time the good of this episode can come to rise to the top.
