Possible discovery: Pathing around objects

I already wondered for a long time why for some objects Sims walk around the entire footprint and for other objects Sims walk around the edges of the object itself.

The same thing is now happening with my unlocked rocks and it made me want to go on a search for the answer. And I think I've found it in "Pointlists".  As far as I've discovered right now, these points are the invisible barriers around an object, a Sim will not walk over. For some rocks this invisible barrier is on the edge of the footprint and there fore contains 4 points, one for each corner. Some other rocks though, have multiple of these points and I guess that's because these points are placed more close to the object itself. And as a rock isn't square shaped, you need more of these point for Sims to walk around them. This also especially counts for rock formations which exist of more then one rock.

All of the above is still more of a guess as I haven't tested what happens if I add more of these points or remove them from an object. But I will!
