It's definitely meant to build up to Season 3, but it still progressed the plot pretty well and introduced some really interesting characters. I'm definitely looking forward to having all my questions answered haha I'm so happy you guys are checking out Taxi Driver next! 2025-01-08 07:16:23 +0000 UTCi feel like 001 didnt kill them early on is because he wants to see our main guy suffer. im sure of it because of all of the lingering stares contempt hes been having with 456 since he entered the games. its like he was studying him. he enjoyed watching 456 struggle and stressed out trying to stop everyone from playing the games and being a "hero". like the last season 001 had front row seats to the games himself toying and deceiving everyone and got off to 456 suffering. i believe thats why he killed his friend instead of 456 himself 😭😭😭 i kinda upset 456 wasnt suspicious with 001 considering what happened last time

Park Sunghoon who plays Hyun-Ju and Jae-Jun in The Glory, plays another rich psycho who lost the diary that had the record of all his murders. The main character finds the diary but loses his memory and thinks that the diary is his, believing himself to be a killer. It's a good comedic series as a normal guy tries to cover up murders he never committed.

2025-01-08 06:32:07 +0000 UTCI just watched a recap of S1 of Squid Game and was reminded that choosing whether to leave or stay in both seasons (after the first game) came down to a single vote. A single vote after witnessing carnage around you. I thought the players in S2 were worse but I guess that's not necessarily the case. (I don't remember who made that deciding vote; it was either the old man or Gi Hun) I haven't seen why people dislike the new season or why it has mixed reviews. After watching videos about the themes and clues within the show, it seems on brand with the social commentary. For me personally, I just don't feel emotionally attached to anyone but that doesn't mean I don't think some characters are sympathetic or that wouldn't suck if they die. I'm just too cynical for self righteous Gihun haha. Even though the recruiter and the front man view the players as trash and horses, their perspective is constantly reaffirmed when people choose selfish, stupid options such as a lottery ticket over food or leaving a death game. Oh, as I'm writing this I'm reminded of that scene in The Dark Knight when The Joker was trying to make other people complicit in something just to prove people suck or something and Batman was like "no, they're better than that; they'll do the right thing" and the people did do the right thing. I think that's what Gihun was going for; that common sense, empathy, and compassion would win out but ultimately, he was also just making stupid and selfish choices and saying that some people are expendable which again reaffirmed the front man's worldview.

I just knew I didn't feel anything in particular about the show or the characters. I never notice those things but that's why I'm grateful to the folks who do like the show and watched & rewatched it to pick up on those things. Like I knew the front man was manipulating Gi Hun but I didn't realize *how* he was doing it such as delaying the 6 legs to psych the group out & scare them or making sure his team was last in case he needed to have witnesses killed. I knew they had a conversation referring to the matrix but I forgot the conversation was to set up the front man's whole mission in the game: to show the futility and failure of Gi Hun's grand plans of "needlessly" playing hero. Like I've said before, I never notice the social commentary part until it's spelled out for me haha.

Or he might’ve PTSD from being in the military which some people tend to have after getting out of the military.

2025-01-08 03:48:40 +0000 UTCi really enjoyed this ep and season overall, but i have to admit this season didn't have the magic s1 did. there also weren't too many emotional scenes to get attached to any of the characters, i found to appreciate all of them equally but i didn't care a lot about anyone particularly. i also thought this season wasn't as gruesome as s1. that being said the character development and storyline was great, hopefully s3 puts a satisyfing end to the series🤞

2025-01-08 02:14:00 +0000 UTCAnd not even that but notice he also flinched when hyun ju went to grab the ammunition he legit thought he was gonna get hit or something so it’s something going on there to much to be a lie. knowing everything ive learned about the Korean military when it comes to all the absorb bullying/abuse and stuff hes clearly gone through something. One of the main theories is that he might have gone through something that happened in real life in Korea, and that may somehow connect that event and could play a role in his character. he said his class was 1149th, and that according to many videos ive seen, would mean that he would have joined in 2011 of april. but in July of 2011 (this is actual real life) there was an incident that happened in Korea where a soldier opened fire on soldiers who bullied him so if this ends up playing into his character somehow this could be an explanation as well. or even not in the Marines but by his dad. he said his dad made him to be more "manly," which pushes the stereotype of a man can't have human reactions and be scared or not "weak" at times like this

I didn't think it would stretch till season 3 but shoot it makes sense and i love it. Netflix accidentally released s3 date haha. expected June 2025 unless they change it. There is so much debate about Dae-ho. I believe he was in the Marines and just has major PTSD. I never thought he was lying, nor was I frustrated with him one bit this episode like that is a realistic response to all that craziness happening around you for a regular person or even a marine/ex-marine/army, etc. He probably could have also just been in another field not involving guns or any kind of trama he faced here, or he was just never deployed as that happens.

That’s why he was scared in panicking because earlier in the season he said that his dad forced him to go into the Marines to be more manly, he didn’t want to.
