The AoT dub is great and I think the humor lands better in English. Also, I think it would have cut down a lot of plot confusion for first-time viewers whose native tongue is English. For you guys, there were a few emotional beats you simply missed because prior plot points had to be explained instead of you experiencing them.

2024-03-18 06:58:58 +0000 UTCThe English dub gets better in season 4 but it's really cringey in season 1 and there's a continuity error in season 2 (Before the reveal, Reiner talks about almost getting crushed in *Annie's*hand. He doesn't know they know Annie was the female titan. Neither do. Armin plays on that later). The main issue, I think, is Bryce Papenbrook's portrayal of Eren. It's so growly and forced edgy that it can really grate on the ears. He gets much better in season 4. Everyone else is really solid throughout. Other differences: Hange is characterized differently because of the word choice in the dub. It does give the same "mad scientist" vibe in the beginning. They changed all the titan roars for some reason and I think they're both terrible and thematically out of place. If it helps, they got a legend for Erwin's VA and he kills it.

2024-03-18 04:14:47 +0000 UTCI know a lot of people don’t like watching anime in dub, but I don’t mind. When I first watched anime, my first one being Tokyo Ghoul, I watched it dubbed, as well as AOT. As of now, I’m watching AOT dub Spanish, saw a small clip of Levi Spanish dub and was curious lol.
