2024-03-11 00:59:27 +0000 UTCS tier show for me but they probably needed a few more episodes to wrap all that up. Ending was absolutely rushed

2024-03-09 12:02:49 +0000 UTCI have the same opinion as Jeff like the ending felt cheap to me as well. I thought the whole point of the time travelling would be to learn to appreciate his parents for who they are and the circumstances of his original life. Like instead of trying tochange history so that his dad wouldn't be deaf I was hoping he would accept how things turned out and go back to have a real conversation with his dad about what he wants in life. But he never had that conversation, he just woke up to the perfect life in 2023

2024-03-08 23:05:09 +0000 UTCThe moment with the Grandma had me in tears! I agree, I wish in the ending he had gone back to his original life with a new perspective but it was nice seeing the family in a better financial position. You guys would enjoy Reply 1988, I hope you watch it one day. It gives off the same kind of nostalgic wholesome feeling. Praying for CLOY next😉

2024-03-08 19:04:23 +0000 UTCI feel like I have commented smmmm hahha but I was watching the show without checking the eps so I didn't know ep 16 was the last one. I was just watching it coz I enjoyed it smmmm. so when i got to ep 16, I was looking for ep 17 coz it genuinely did not feel like a finale and as Toby and Jeff said I thought there would be a season 2 coz I was like aint no damn way it is ending like that but sadly there isn't. THE DIRECTORS ARE Son Jeong-hyeon Yoo Beom-sang.

2024-03-08 18:04:20 +0000 UTCi feel like i agree but I think the ending was trying to show how wronged Cheong-ah was in her life before the son changed that. she would have been sm more basically if she wasn't absued all her life, thats how i am seeing it. I think you guys missed something extremely vitallllll. THE VIVA LA VIDA MAN WHO SENT THEM TIME TRAVELLING IS EUN YOO (SE KYEONG'S DAUGHTER'S) GRANDFATHER BUTTTTT when he was YOUNG. That is why when Eun gyeol was leaving, the man turned into the old version who died in 2023. CRAZYYYY!!! This ending ahd sm potential frrr, they should have just calmed down to smooth it over. But this SHOWWWW i would give over all 9/10. If the ending wasn't so rushed defooo a 10/10. I cried a lot, felt the charcaters deeply and could appreciate my parents more in real time. BEAUTIFUL IMPACT

2024-03-08 10:15:52 +0000 UTCDang i still ugly sobbed rewatching this. I was waiting for Jeff to tear up even a little bit but it was hard to do when my own eyes were overflowing with tears 😅 I agree, the ending could have been better, but what I was looking for was an explanation on what happened to Eunyoo and her family. Otherwise, I think everything makes sense. EunGyeol's parents found their way to success because they weren't isolated from their support systems. In the original 2023, Mom had been cut off from her family and Dad had cut off his friends. It's a nice message, too, how being deaf doesn't have to be a reason for them to be shunned or ashamed. I'm glad that's the take they chose to go with ❣️ Now for recommendations: Again, Mr. Queen. Time for something a lot more light hearted. Think: modern person time travelling to a historical era. 18 Again - this is for later. Take a break with something lighter first then come back to this after Death's Game. I wanna see if this drama can finally make Jeff cry 😂 To end my long comment: thank you both for watching Twinkling Watermelon! I wouldn't have picked it up if you guys hadn't, and it was such a great ride. An awesome drama - 9.5 for me. Great acting, great story. Now on to the next!🥳

2024-03-08 06:39:01 +0000 UTCI enjoyed the whole drama with you guys 😭 I would definitely recommend "The good bad mother" "The world of the married" or "Sky castle" (if it ever happens/get the chance to watch)

2024-03-08 06:37:51 +0000 UTCthe ending was so rushed, especially with meeting the girl at the end. im not sure why it was so rushed. kind of brought down the overall rating that id give the drama. would have been a 10/10 but even after rewatching with @Core4VT, the rushed ending just cannot be redeemed😭 still.... defo a show id recommend

2024-03-08 03:04:01 +0000 UTCLoved your reaction! This drama just became one of my favorites. Here's some clarification about the ending. Basically, there's a reason they ended up wealthy. In the original timeline (before the time travel), the mother mentioned having no family, probably because she cut ties due to abuse. Remember, her son changed that, and she reconciled with her father. Her family turns out to be wealthy because her father was the director of Jisung (the guitar company). That's probably why he took Ha EunGeul's father (Ha HiChan) as his son-in-law to succeed him. So, Ha EunGeul's actions led to this new 2023 present. I agree with you though, money isn't necessarily the key to happiness and with this ending it kinda feels like it

2024-03-08 01:39:23 +0000 UTCRegarding the mom and dad. Chung Ah’s dad mentions a university in the U.S. for the deaf that she can go to. At the end when Eun Gyeol is looking at the brochure when his father is on stage, it lists his father’s position within the company and in the subtitles of the video you were watching it says [Education], but the university listed there is actually the same university for the deaf that Chung Ah’s dad mentioned. So we can assume that her and Yichan reunited when they went to college and that’s how they still ended up together in the new future.

2024-03-08 01:18:10 +0000 UTCremember the grandpa (dad of mom) was an owner of a conglomerate (jinsung group). family was poor in the original timeline because mom had to leave her family because of squid games. but since squid games was out of the picture, grandpa and mom's relationship was fixed... it would have not made sense if family was still poor or at least not well off, it would have meant something was still off between mom and grandpa. but yeah, the ending felt like it was rushed. you have to do a lot of reading between the lines.

2024-03-08 01:12:05 +0000 UTCthink they could've executed the ending better but none of the less, it was a heart-warming show🩷 excited for the next kdrama! if you plan on doing romance again, I recommend 2521 or CLOY. Both masterpieces! The latter has action & changed the kdrama game forever in korea & internationally!

2024-03-08 01:11:40 +0000 UTCFYI twinkling watermelon is coming out in bluray soon and i think they’ll include deleted/unaired scenes. i remember TVN (channel the show aired) posting stills/bts video of lee chan and cheongah’s college days AND the actor who played eungyeol is a part of the cast line up for Weak Hero S2 🤭

2024-03-08 00:51:36 +0000 UTCi think you missed the small detail towards the end but lee chan graduated from the same university as cheong ah. now he’s the chief director and cheong ah’s the CEO of jinsung instruments 🤧

2024-03-08 00:48:21 +0000 UTCit was an amazing journey to rewatch this k-drama with y'all, i'm really gonna miss it 🥹❤️🩹 i also recommend this netflix k-drama called d.p. about the korean military that i think you guys would enjoy! there are some familiar actors in the cast including our beloved Pink Pillow 🫰

2024-03-08 00:37:50 +0000 UTCI loved you guys reactions throughout the whole series :) In regards to the ending, I understand how yall feel but by Eun-Gyeol going back in time and fixing his Mum's childhood abuse/relationship with her Dad, it caused them to be directly connected to the Jisung family wealth. Realistically as well, Eun-Gyeol would've probably had that level of fame eventually anyway due to his band + with the ending being like that, it also meant that 'Pink Pillow' Dad still had his friends around so it ain't the worst that could've happened. I'm looking forward to your new posts for the next K-drama now <3

2024-03-08 00:37:17 +0000 UTCI think before the main guy went back in time, I don't think his mother had a good relationship with her father and I think the main lead changed that, I assumed that's why his family has money because the mother inherited the money, just my take on it

2024-03-08 00:10:34 +0000 UTCI took the ending shot of the dad as him realizing that he really met his son when he was 18. Like he found the cassette, and then while watching him perform he started smirking a lil so I liked that. They didn’t outwardly be like “you are eun gyeol from 1995!!” It was more so the dad having that moment to himself and thinking about everything he went through with Eun Gyeol and all the weird things he said that may have stuck out. Because also we have to remember it’s been 29 yrs and Eun Gyeol was really only there for 2 MAYBE 3 months tops so it’s fair to say the group won’t fully remember him yk

2024-03-08 00:10:09 +0000 UTCmom had nothing to do with what her brother did so yeah it would have been messed up if they blamed her in any way. if i was dad that would not affect my relationship (friendship/lover,etc) with mom at all. and not yall seeing thier lived did in fact change but till saying it didn't like huh 😂🤦🏾♀️ no s2 we really dont need one either

2024-03-08 00:04:45 +0000 UTCIt’s weird to say, but i felt so sad when i finished this drama. It was like i wanted to actually continue on living in that world because i felt like these characters became apart of my family. Also, you may not know this, but in this episode they actually featured (in a small clip) of a youtuber who is currently pursuing acting in the kdrama world. I think his name is Jin and his channel name is “Jin and Hattie” that him and his wife has. But i saw him and thought looked familiar and then a video popped up on my yt feed with a video of him and his wife reacting to hi part in twinkling watermelon. Lol. It was pretty interesting to watch.
