2023-10-17 02:34:48 +0000 UTCso to recap: this is 4 yrs after s3 finale. Marley side's mission failed becos not only they couldnt get the Founding titan but they also lost Colossal and Female titan. They had to put that mission on hold becos they have been in wars with other nations, like in this ep, they are fighting a middle eastern country (couldnt rmbr the name). At this point we know that the Nine Titans only have 13 yrs to live - that means Marley is in the process of picking the warrior candidates (Falco, gabi,...) to be the titan successors. We know from this ep here that Colt has been picked to be Zeke's successor. it is also normal to be confused haha cant wait for the next few eps!

Because Reiner and Zeke got they butts kicked on Paradis, and lost the colossal and female titan, other nations decided to go to war against Marley in hopes of taking advantage after losing 2 of their strongest titans. You gotta remember that Marley is only strong because of the 9 titans. I wonder what our guys on Paradis have been up to these last 3 years 🤔

Because Marley fucked around and lost two of their titans (colossal and female) to the Eldians on Paradis (that’s what they call the island where Eren lives) the world (allied forces) decided to make a move against Marley. Remember, they had 7 of the 9 titans and that made them a pretty unstoppable world superpower. And not only have they lost two titans, but the rest of the world has been developing weaponry that can combat titans (as seen here with the armored train and titan-piercing ammo). And even though they finally put an end to this four-year war, they see that they almost lost two more titans in the process so getting the founding titan AND the natural resource on the island is an even bigger priority. Finally, those kids are all warrior candidates to consume the titans that Marley still has as they approach their 13th year (remember they die 13 years after becoming one of the nine). Gabi really wants to inherit the armored and Colt has already been chosen to take The Beast (Zeke). Yes, those were the Jaw and Cart titans fighting with Reiner. And yes the Cart is the same one that was helping Zeke on Paradis when Bertholdt got eaten. “Who is that?” The man at the end? Ima come over there and hurt y’all. 😂 “Reiner is fire!” - Tobi My how the turns have tabled. 😛

The rest of season 4 and onwards is animated by MAPPA studios so you’ll notice a change in art style and budget.

2023-10-17 02:26:43 +0000 UTCSometimes I wish people’s first experience is the dubbed for that very reason. Not only do the jokes land better, but the exposition-heavy episodes are easier to digest. I think it takes a little bit away from the experience when you miss why something you’re watching is important. And since both the English and Japanese voice actors absolutely kill it, it really is a win-win to watch both. And same with noticing new things or appreciating bits of world-building I’d forgotten.

The dubbed may be better for any rewatches when you find yourself confused.

I don't think it counts as spoiling if it's been literally said out loud in the show. they just missed it. which is understandable. with this show if you aren't paying attention, you will miss key things. im not sure how many times I've watched this show with reactors at this point but every time I spot something new.

2023-10-17 02:03:32 +0000 UTCI’m sorry, and I will die on this hill, but if you’ve seen all of season three (at the very least 3x14/15), it is impossible to be “spoiled” on who Zeke is. You may have MISSED it, but the show told us several times who he was and going into season 4, they absolutely expect you to know who he is. Missing may add to confusion, but you’re absolutely supposed to know.
