love this arc so much and i don't even really got an answer as to why. The unconditional love killua has is beautiful. He's been a monster before simply because that was his family's perception of him, and gon became his light and let him foster his true self. Now he walks through just as this shining light himself that showers his sister with unconditional love because he's the only one that can see the lover beneath the fighter. She just fulfills requests to bring her loved ones what they desire. Her nature itself has no malice. Killua is just the only one willing to love her enough to see that for what it is, and let her own nature dictate her freedom, rather than the possible consequences of actions she didn't even decide to commit. Shes just a kid who loves her bro. Lots.of continuing themes from the ants, thank you for making them clearer

I think Alluka might've been inspired by.. a family member wth intellectually disabled/mentally ill.
Hear me out.
I have an aunt that's "special". She's mostly harmless and sweet, but sometimes she doing something completely insane that creeps everyone out and it's dangerous for everyone involved
It's very difficult for this person to function, so the family put her into the facility, when their closed of for their own savety and for savety of other people.
And sometimes it can be difficult to even treat someone like that as a person. Sometime's they don't feel like human being but someone's almost possesed. a "Something" if you will...
I can easily see someone like that in family of such standard like Zoldyck being cast aside.
But in families like this there's often one special person, an empath who shows a person like this compassion and understanding.
My mom treated my aunt differently and always brought my aunt for Christmas and holidays from the facility to our home. And since they were sisters, she understands my aunts, she knows how to handle her and can even make her a part of holiday preperacions.
And there's just so much love between them despite all the difficult moments that happened over the years.
But there's sometimes family members that want to profit from having someone "Special". Not exactly like Milluki, but you can get annuities for this person if you're this person caretaker. My other aunt actually took advantage of that, been "a parent" to this person and took money that was supposed to be spend on my disabled aunt's needs.
For me this makes the story of Alluka's even more tragic because how rooted in reality it feels.
She might not be disabled/mentaly ill, but Killua and Alluka are written in such impressive way that it captures so well how person who is so different might be treated by other family members.

50 episode season is a lie, it would be closer to 30 ish episodes, since the anime did adapt around 2-3 chapters per episode

Killua and Alluka's bond is beautiful indeed! I could watch Illumi and Hisoka yapping for hours tbh lol

The anime ends on chapter 338 bro, the manga is currently on chapter 410, so plenty of material available. They could make a 50 episode season if they wanted to but I think the timing still isn’t right.

I love it when you add your own personal reflections in the analysis bro. Ultimately I feel that’s what storytelling is all about.

Well if anyone wants a clearer vision I recommend "The Longest Job" by emanthony on AO3, best Hisoillu fic out there! And that's the last I will say on the matter. Now I'll go hide somewhere 😶🌫️ goodbye 😂

Sorry, I don‘t know if I’m understanding something wrong here😅
My point is, I feel like you got way more out of these two episodes than most of us and those additional „things“ were in the Zoldyck/Alluka plot. Therefore you talked about it way more than anyone expected and most people including me expected that you are going to talk about Pariston more despite what is actually presented in these 2 episodes. Cause he is a fan fav as you slowly understand I believe lol
It is what it is. Excited for the last few episodes!🙌

In a sense, a bit of Pariston was even spoiled for me, given how people have been speaking of him in the comments. Not plot specific spoilers, but just the nature and intrigue of the character.

Oh I meant the actual anime episodes (past two specifically) allocating that much runtime to the Zoldyck/Alluka plot, with the election stuff sprinkled in.

I get that. Nobody does deepdives as intense as you do. But the general ratio of what was discussed is different. As a person and character Pariston is very weird and unique individual so prob thats why people focus on him and his mystery rather than character relationships we already know and are aware of cause they are more obvious to us

That’s really surprising to hear, given the Major focus, deep dive and episode runtime allocated to the killlua/Alluka/Zoldyck plot in These past two episodes.

@Slaaverin - Wow I had no idea... Hisoka as the top ? That's something I had never thought about but I see the vision. Very clearly, yes hahaha.
@Kon - Hisumi is a cute name for a ship, that's true. Very cute for Illumi and Hisoka haha, almost too cute.

All good Im. It’s all understandable and I just noticed it cause most discussion around these episodes resolve most of the time around Pariston despite his scarce appearances in these first few episodes of the arc
Didn‘t expect that that many have a similar sentiment lol

There’s more Pariston discussion in upcoming videos. These past couple of episodes didn’t really have all that much of him in there. Have to remember, You have experienced that character much more than me, I’m guessing continuing into the Manga as well. So you have quite complete experience of that, in comparison to what I had up to this specific episode.

Hisumi just sounds perfect and natural? Like an actual character's name.

pariston is legit like the paragon for the type of antagonist he is. no other writer in manga has managed to create a character like pariston imo. okay maybe the Friend from 20th century boys but thats it.

This episode is where I realised that Killua is the heart of the show. You see how emotionally strong and open he’s become, especially since the later half of the CA arc, the moments with Ikalgo and Palm, and now the Zoldyck family and Alluka. He feels so strongly, and in the flashbacks you realise he’s been this way since he was a kid.

It's the most commonly used yes! Surely because people imagine Hisoka as a top (the first name usually is 😂). But I kinda agree with you Illusoka does sound better 😂 haha

Just call Alluka‘s other self Nanika. Most fan subs use it, Killua directly calls her Nanika and it is the japanese term for something and the entire fanbase calls it that. So yeah
Also love the relationship between Killua and Alluka. Here you really see the development of Killua shining the best imo. Sad you don‘t talk in you discussions much about Pariston but maybe that will change in the next episode. Easily one of the most intriguing characters of Hunter x Hunter

Didnt think i would learn here that Nanika translates to 'something', now it feels weird to hear her called that lol

You could also refer to Something as Nanika, the original Japanese word they used. Many subs don't even translate it to "Something," and I feel like most of the community uses Nanika. I also love Alluka's design! One of my favorites

I'm a huge Hisoillu shipper so that episode is a treat to me lol I've always felt like Illumi is the best match for Hisoka in terms of romance. Their dynamic showed in this episode is quite compelling. They would be such a power couple lmao you have an interesting take on Alluka. Thank you for sharing a tidbit of personal experience, having had myself quite a number of eye-opening experiences with spirits, I understand where you might be coming from. It's always an interesting topic! Killua and Alluka's relationship is so cute! I'm glad you think the same. Great discussion as always 💜
