Cole is def part of my top 5 rappers so I was hyped for this collab bc j hope my bias too๐๐ผ and V and suga lmaooo but anyways, I agree on how heโs different bc he ainโt out here rappin bout hoes, sex, and money in every single bar, heโs not always trying to make a club banger, and heโs not trying to boast bout gold chains, cars etc etc .. heโs a lyrical beast and his cadence is ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ

2023-03-09 23:02:44 +0000 UTCit's amazing bc my brother is a huge fan of rap (his favorites are jcole, jay-z, etc.) and i'm a huge fan of bts. i'm black and i listen to rap too obviously from time to time but i'm not super passionate about it, like i am about bts. my brother came over yesterday and he asked me if i heard the jcole and hope song and i was like "of course!" and he told me that he really liked the song, so much so that it's actually on his playlist. it was cool that my interest connected with his and that he's seeing my interest in a different way now. i think this collab has opened up a lot of minds about bts. they aren't just pop, they aren't just dynamite and butter. they're multi-talented artists.

This track and the whole MV is a homage to J-hope's roots as competitive street dancer where his dreams of becoming an artist began and J.Cole was a big part of it as he would dance to J.Cole songs when he was young, he considers J.Cole as the artist who inspired him to become a musician. Truly a dream collaboration and a special gift to ARMY before he enters the military, he's the next member to enlist after Jin. Also to answer your question, the music video was shot in New York. Also the Jhope dancing while Jcole was rapping was a nod back to when Jhope was younger because dancing to him was how he started out. Another thing, this is Jhopes last song before he goes to the military, in Jin's The Astronaut he says goodbye to the kid, and in this Jhope does the same. There are so many meaningful things in this song! So proud of Jhope!
