Catie, I saw the first season of that series, the Thai version of Boys Over Flowers, and KinnPorsche, a Thai BL gangster series. All were super violent. The bullying and violence is over the top with Thai shows. Even the way they speak punches you with their words.

The bullying in Korea is one of the worst. the bullying scenes you see in the movies and series is not far from reality. Most of the teachers are aware of the bullying but tend to ignore it or the punishments are not that severe.

I was literally asking my brother “why the hell there ain’t ever no damn teachers in these classes?” 😂😂😂 I know bullying is very big in Korea which is sad and probably bc the teachers ain’t ever there and the laws aren’t strict 🥴 but I binge watched this show all night last night and it was definitely one of my top 5 fav dramas ! i remember reading the director was very worried for the actor when he had to repeatedly slap himself because i guess it was supposed to be “fake” slaps but the actor decided to slap himself real hard so much so that the next day of filming his whole cheek was swollen. the main character is an idol which i get very wary about idols turning actors because there’s really only a few that are REALLY good & this dude is just one of them. btw there’s gonna be a s2 so idk how they’re gonna leave this season off because i’m watching this alongside y’all

The actor who plays the main character is incredible. Because he’s also a kpop idol. And if you watch him behind the scenes, he smiles and laughs alot. His personality is complete opposite of his character. The actor who plays “Pink pillow” (lol) is just as goofy outside of the show as his character he plays. In interviews he’s just naturally witty and funny on the spot. And the actor who plays new kid in class seems to be the sweetest and laidback person in real life, nowhere close to who his character is, (you’ll understand what i mean by this after you guys finish the series). The drug dealing cousin (that wears the hat), also plays in another great drama on Netflix that would actually be another great series to react to called “alchemy of souls”. All the actors/actresses are phenomenal in the show. Also, if you feel like you’ve seen the actor who plays “pink pillow” somewhere, he’s also in the netflix shows called “2521” and “racket boys”. But idk if you’ve seen those shows or not.

Correct, I think he is depressed and lonely. Sometimes, if not most of the time, when one is depressed, one eventually starts feeling numb. Which could be why he's so monotone when answering others or not as fazed as others would be in certain situations.

Toby is right! He does use science to fight (well, mostly physics). Unfortunately, they don't emphasise that so much here, but in the Webtoon his character is known to be a very calculative. He would use physics to calculate forces and momentum and utilises all resources at his disposal (this episode was a pen, a book, the curtain and a chair). He's also known to be using psychology to intimidate and trigger his opponents. Basically, anything to give him the advantage since he's aware that he can't match his opponents in terms of strength. One of his quote from the Webtoon is "I’m a coward…so I never start fights I can’t win.”

i have heard that this season, is just the back story of sieun, our main guy. the webtoon version starts in season 2 and that is where the real story is it.

The mom didn't die. His parents got divorced. The mom is an instructor that Sieun watches at home. In the scene in his room the dad asks if he keeps in touch meaning if he keeps in touch with the mother.

In Korea it is normal for the teacher to not be in the classroom unless it is during a class period which is why you don't really see teachers. They usually stay in the teacher's office. In Korea schools last till late afternoon and after that students go to other academies that last till late at night.
