This is the one BTS song that will always have me in tears. I even cried watching this reaction haha. I'm so happy that you guys are taking the time to go in depth with the meaning and lyrics of their music. This is def what makes BTS stand out from others. Knowing that RM wrote these lyrics sitting under a tree in Korea and thinking about all of this makes it so much more meaningful to me and to others, as fans. I think at this point, how could I not love and support people like this?

The New Yorker did a story on it too, if you guys are interested in watching on your own. It’s more in depth with the government mishandling & the challenges the families faced in just trying to get answers as to what happened. https://youtu.be/5_A8dq2fA5o Also keep in mind that when BTS released this MV, they weren’t nearly as famous as they are today. So at the time they risked getting blacklisted themselves just by making references & implications about the tragedy, and taking a “political” stance. In my own BTS journey, this MV really solidified my respect for them as a whole. It’s not only about catchy songs, crazy dances and sets. They’ve really been out here moving the right way since the beginning. That’s why ARMY stans so hard. 🖤🖤🖤
