Heart's Reflection - Process + Artist thoughts

Here’s the process for Heart’s Reflection (thanks again, Maris, for the title suggestion!) It’s a pretty straightforward process since most of it started with Procreate. Usually, when I paint on Procreate, I tend to be freer with how I paint and use fewer layers, especially since this painting doesn’t involve too much architecture.

Artist Thoughts
Lately, I’ve been a little burnout with painting large detailed scenes, so doing this painting was such a nice break. I often find myself pushing my limits to try to paint grand and bigger scenes, but I need to find joy in painting simpler subjects, even if it means returning to my comfort zone.
I guess I’ve always had that mindset that, as an artist, I need to keep improving. I’m always looking for ways to improve in certain areas of painting, whether it’s perspective, composition, storytelling, etc.
It can feel a little overwhelming sometimes. But I need to tell myself that it’s okay just to take a step back and just enjoy the process of painting itself. 😊

Thank you Mia, for your kind words, that really means a lot to me! 🥹 Sometimes, I feel like I'm putting this pressure on myself for no reason, but I definitely need to snap out of it and enjoy the process because art should be fun and not stressful! 💕✨
